Woot! I am at exactly 1,000 posts including aliases as a courtesy of this fun little game. Well, 1,001 including this one.:)
Just had to share.

Lynora:
Congratulations on making approximately 1000 posts; it's easy when you're involved in threads like this with aliases all over the place. ;)

I have posted a transcript anyway. By the time I discovered you had posted one, I had practically finished mine. My version is somewhat longer winded than yours but includes some of the Jacks buffoonery, and the Crimson Jester - Thieving Wasp exchanges.

Emperor 7:
The Eighth Runelord made sure that Kobold Cleaver at least went to check on your grand-daughter at the end of the battle, so some sort of attention was there; I don't know what state you want her to be in, and whether or not anything could have been done by te time Kobold Cleaver got there.

Releasing a scream that can be heard for miles, The Bard unleashes pure uncontrolled magic. A flash of light erupts from the forest, leaving only a crater where Rio, his pokemon, and The Bard once stood.*

No they are not dead. You just think they are.

I feel the need to explain what has happend. The Bard had secretly put limits on the amount of power he could use at any one given time. But, upoun seeing Rio dead, he unleashed his full potential and, with the release of powerful Water magic, plunged them into The Time Stream, where thay wait for him to regain the strength needed to leave.

Which will very soon, considering his power over time. The limits will be back up and Rio will not remember his death. He will simply think he was asleep for a very looooong time.

As far as I knew, Rio just happened to be in the part of the forest which the Wraith Lord dropped on top of, when the vrocks, Aunt Esmerelda, and others, drove the Wraith Lord from the sky.
The Wraith Lord landed in the same area as Rio (dropping from a height didn't exactly hurt the Wraith lord) and went for him.
Unless you mean the Wraith Lord literally dropped on top of Rio?

Anyway, 'fog of war' and all that - things get confusing in battles.

No I think he just found him by accident. Works better and is simpler that way.

OK, now that things are resolved(?) I am transitioning to a more casual posting rate for a while. If y'all wanna keep up the stuff, that's fine, but my characters feel like they need some rest. They will be neutral for a while.

I have started a thread dedicated to evil : >>HERE<<. If anyone feels like contributing an undead baddie to the Palace of Skulls, feel free. I am building them up for an eventual fight (LATER). I would appreciate it if overzealous folk would refrain from teleporting in and starting trouble for now.

Lynora-Jill, do you have anything special planned for Sunny Godhead. I'd like to be your aura for a while. I even have an idea if you're interested.

Yeah, now that she can't siphon off divine energy from GDK she'd be very much looking to go back to serving SunnyG. Although she would point out that her loyalty is still to the Jacks, she doesn't think it's really a conflict of interest to serve both. So what did you have in mind?

That explosion could have trapped Sunny G (as an aura) onto her body or a part of him for an undefinied amount of time.

Did a 12 hour graveyard shift last night, thus I'm off to bed. I'll catch up in about seven hours. Night everyone.

Oh, and just for the record, KC, I'm glad to play along with a storyline even when things aren't going my way, but please next time ask me ahead of time before you decide to mess up my character. I could have told you, (and tried to tell you a couple times beforehand) that the personality change things wasn't going to work. LJ isn't as stupid as she looks. (Most of her acting stupid before was due to constant memory erasure. Girl's got an 18 wisdom.) She anticipated GDK doing something just along those lines. (And GDK is my character too so you really should have checked with me ahead of time. I might have been able to suggest a more effective tactic.) I tried to play along with it, but the chat is not conducive to those sort of descriptions so it kinda fell flat. Sorry about that.

Anyways, I'm glad that her going nova wasn't enough to kill Candle Lighter. It would have been a total letdown if one person was able to take him out.

Nah, CL has been around for a while and learned a lot. He's gonna be back, and now he has a different target.

On the new thread: Oops. I'll move Esmeralda out soon.

So when do we move on to the next part of the game?

Dragonborn3 wrote:

Patrick and I have both said that we wanted to keep things to more casual play for awhile. I'm not up for anything major for the next week at least, and could use a couple of weeks before we get into another big skirmish.

Looks like I missed...well, a lot :)

Should I try plugging back into the "Club" thread, or did my poor avatar here get flatlined somewhere in the battle?

We would never kill you off when you aren't here to enjoy it:)

Feel free to place your character wherever you like. We are currently between battles.

I agree. Im game, The Bard needs awhile to regain his strength anyway.

One of the reasons they came back months after their 'death'.

In and out today as I attempt to keep time with my weekend chores:

Metagame discussion re: The OTD RPG:

Thanks everyone who chimed in with a character at the Palace of Skulls! My thoughts on its purpose is for it to act as a shadowy nemesis in the next round of conflict which should ramp up in a week or two. I was thinking it would also serve as a way for people who are hungry for a little battle to have options in fighting each other. You can take your 'evil' dude out and fight someone else's 'good' dude and vice versa. That way it doesn't have to be so epic all the time. I would respectfully ask that people refrain from posting with 'good' aliases in the Palace of Skulls unless it is in service of a pre-agreed story arc. I want it to act as an evil stronghold, and the versimilitude gets worn thin if people are just strolling in.

The Grove of the Ancients I made up becasue I felt Earth needed a place. We still need a sea thread somewhere if anyone feels up to the task of making one. If anyone wants to do a tree character in the Grove for kicks feel free.

Ebony Jaguar has the 2,000th gem from the Steel Tsar. What he will do with it, I am not quite sure yet. Alaina is going back to hostess duties with Malice Jack on the mike and Acme&Rosie serving cocktails if anyone wants to drop by.

Margarinefrog had a bad time in the battle, and Lemmiwinks was sorely injured. The are hanging at the club as well. Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser will also be hanging around very quietly, mostly becasue its getting really hard to keep all my alaises all over RPGing in this format.

Spring Sapling is dead, unless someone feels the need for her to return. Dread Lord Wendigo might get a reincarnation, I don't know. The peasant's bones lie unclaimed on King David's thread if anyone wants to bring him back for any reason.

Anyway good game last night! Hope we can all come up with some more interesting tales soon!

Good game all. I posted several epilogues on various threads.

Patrick - Your call on Spring Sapling. I paved the way for either. The Grove can forbid the reincarnation, due to death being part of nature, etc.

Back to drinking and carousing for JH.

I'm probably going to put together something for the Palace of Skulls. Maybe the spirit of Death and Destruction that was trapped in the hammer.

Thx for all the fun!

As a matter of interest, I know Club Calistria is technically 'Neutral Ground' but does that mean that Crimson Crime aren't supposed to operate there? (Whether or not they pay any attention to the rule is another matter, but are they in theory not supposed to take anything on a permanent basis from customers or staff?) What about 'pranks' by Crimson Crime, involving 'borrowing things without asking on a temporary basis'?

It may be neutral ground, but that doesn't mean it is 'off limits'. Feel free to use the thread if there is something you wish to do, or a story arc to work. If you want to play a prank or steal an item feel free. The Crimson Crime is by all means allowed to visit, stealing will be frowned upon of course.

The hardest thing since we started this thing is trying to work between several people's vision. Since there is no 'Gamemaster', we have half-a-dozen regular posters who all have their own take on things. I personally enjoy the developing story more than whether my characters are 'winning'. There's really less to 'win' than even in a regular PbP since there really is no common denominator as to XP, gold, etc ...The things most gamers try to get.

Charles if you have something particular in mind vis-a-vis a story arc involving any of my aliases you wish to explore, feel free to post the particulars here.

Hmmm....

This is the Gem of Amara. It is an artifact of some power I negotiated for from a far plane. It allows vampires to operate in full sunlight. You will need it for your mission. I also have this ...

Hands Innocent Blood an earring

This earring will allow you to emulate a living girl, in effect appearing as you did before your Birth-to-Darkness. Never be separated from it...

Shiny, shiny, shiny jewels?

Well, you'll have to catch Innocent Blood first, and get them off of her. It would also mess up a few story arcs I am attempting to put in play, but if you want to do something, feel free.

Given that the next Round of the Superstar Contest is coming up, which will be taking quite a bit of my posting attention for the next few days, I'll hold off for now, but I'll leave the idea floating around in case you want to work towards it or make use of it yourself.

I'm about to pull the Eighth Runelord's goblins out of the RPG thread, so won't have any characters/aliases with interests in play for the next few days, unless I slip a new alias into Crimson Crime to send out a few feelers there.

Fair enough. All my buds are out of that contest, so my interest has paled on it. Have fun in the trenches!

Just to let you know, I'm not speeding up my timetable on GDK's recovery. It's going to be a very slow process. But I really needed a way to keep track of the doings of my crazy cultists, so I started a thread for it. Feel free to bring your own crazy cultists to the party or have other baddies show up looking for alliances. The bookkeeper is listening ;)

Dragonborn, I hope you don't mind where I'm going with this. Just so you know, he doesn't actually know, he just has a sort of sense of danger, malice, and especially deceit. He isn't really sure if the Shadow is evil/lying. He just suspects. He isn't actually sure what is making his sense go off.

Wow. I just realized that I started a thread so I can talk to myself because all the voices in my head were getting too hard to keep track of. As one of my friends likes to say, I write fiction because it's cheaper than therapy :P

I'm not even sure about that right now! I'm just letting it all roll out in it's own way.

Not sure if this is considered epic or not, but is anybody willing try something like this?

Like as a story arc? Evil dragons awakening? Could be good after the undeaders get waxed...

Yeah. I could even bring in Db3(from the ponds) for some dragon vs. dragon sky fights.

Shrugs Sure ... The poor froggie pond has been neglected lately ..

I know. Tis' sad really. I have to try and bring it back after this is all done.

Yeah, I feel bad about ignoring the frog pond too. Sounds like an interesting storyline DB3. I'd be up for fighting killer dragons after we're done with the undead. Given how long it's going to take to play out the current story, that's probably going to be a long ways away. If she's still around GDK would side with the dragons. That's her kind of destruction right there. But most evil people like the idea of continuing to exist, so she's kind of an exception.

A few posts up. DB3 proposed evil dragons awakening as a possible future story arc.

Everyone, especially those with characters in teh Palace of Skulls, you should know something to understand the upcoming story arc:
KC is very weak. He is very smart, and very wise, and he could still probably beat a couple grey linnorms, but he is less than half his normal strength. This is mainly because he gave almost everything to Wasp, not expecting to ever be freed. The trouble is, he still doesn't to believe that he's weakened. He doesn't want to believe it. He believes that he can take on the spies and win. He is also very distrustful, which is why he tells nobody of his suspicions.
Just so you know that he may lose.
You'll see what I'm talking about in a minute.

Umm, I'm facing informational overload here ATM. Is tonight's story following an arc or is it just free fer all?

Patrick Curtin wrote:

I have no idea. I was just providing an introduction for a new character and then all of a sudden we're fighting. I just went with it. If there's an arc it's KC's.

KC, you wanna maybe clue me in so I don't step on yer toes?
