Demon of Fear? She heads off to the palace archives, and comes back a couple of days later.
The last time I was insane enough to attempt a census there were 5,091,364.5 'Demons of Fear' lurking about the place. (The '.5' was one who couldn't make his mind up if he was a demon of fear or not.) And those are just the ones who stopped to talk to the census takers - there could have been more who were in hiding, or for that matter some of the correspondents who answered may have been lying, and not actually been 'Demons of Fear' at all. And a couple of censuses ago, there was this one guy who was a shapeshifter who was pretending to be at least half a dozen different Demons of Fear, with a different 'Mrs. Fear' or 'Girlfriend of Fear' in each guise.
You have no idea how popular it is in these parts for some types to claim to be a Demon of Fear, and frankly, I gave up trying to sort out any kind of hierarchy of them after the third annual chess contest went on for seven hundred and four eighty years. (Basically, they would rank themselves, on a 'Fear Ladder' by sitting looking at one another over a chess board, glowering until the other blinked, and position being determined by which Demon of Fear ran out of time to intimidate or was reduced to a quivering heap of jelly first.)
Nice rant. ;p

Going to have to wrap it up for tonight soon. Could we all agree on a battle time? I'd like to move forward in the next week or so with this romp, as I am running the BBEG and work in RL is starting to ramp up a bit.
I know that Lynora is on vacation, so perhaps next week would be better. I am ussally free tues, weds and fri nights to a greater extent, any thoughts?

One question I have is, does Innocent Blood launch an attack whilst Lynora-Jill & Alaina are 'off elsewhere' (in the Realms of Dream)?
And is the Sanctum of the Sun the primary objective of the first major attack (being the seat of that sun-loving deity), what influence (if any) would you like the 'gypsy curse' magic the Grey Wanderer's minions put in place around the Sanctum to have on the outcome of any fighting there, (if any noticeable effect - and perhaps it hasn't really got going yet) and do you want fighting (if an attack on the Sanctum is beaten off) to fall back to the Place of Winds, maybe, where Innocent Blood is establishing for herself a base?
For myself, I'm not sure any of my current aliases (except maybe the spymistress, Shovastika) are likely to much involve themselves. The Eighth Runelord might get involved sending more goblins to assist Auruns if someone attacks the Oasis, and the Keeper of the Glass Lake is looking forward very much to delaying Lynora-Jill in the Realms of Dream.

Nah. I think they will make it back in time. Assuming they aren't delayed by anything ... Alaina is there in spirit form only, thus without a tie to her corpus she is none too powerful ATM.
I can't say for sure where they will strike, but if it is the Sanctum then by all means trigger the curse if you so wish. I am envisioning a sort of Armaggeddon thing with IB and friends, maybe clear the playing field for some new characters and get rid of some old threads. I saw the Place of the Winds was pretty much abandoned, so I figured it would be a good place to 'marshal' the Army of the Damed. Whether they get beaten back and regroup will be a function of the improv I'm guessing.

No worries, I got the BBEG slot this time. You can trot your folks out another day. I just want to get this arc wrapped up, then I will be backseating for a while and character developing. Someone else can make up the next threat :)

Next week would definitely be better for me. Wednesday or Friday would work fine. Tuesday is often real-life gaming group, so I can't promise to be online that night. Sometimes we meet on Thursday, but it all depends on people's work schedules and they don't generally know this far in advance.
Weds or Friday work well for me. Probably Weds I'll be able to monitor the boards closer since I have that day off usually.

Kobold Catgirl |

Hey, you're not the only villain guy, Pat. I have Candle Lighter, who is currently badly diminished by an off-screen betrayal by the Mask (um...you guys didn't know that yet. Oops. Uh, dun dun DUN! heh heh...), and the Mask is badly diminished by the destruction of his most powerful servant. You guys may or may not have noticed his Varsivius-style text. This is actually because his least intelligent servant with the closest link to him has been destroyed, throwing his mental faculties into overdrive. It'll fade in time, but in the meantime he'll be acting much smarter because the balancing force has been removed. It isn't really good for him, despite his 'increased' intelligence, because he is much weaker, heavily disoriented, and almost incapable of directing his forces.
Just in case someone thought I was just trying to make him seem really smart to regain my spotlight. :D
/\Friday best for me.

Regarding the dreamlands, after delivering Alaina to SunnyG, LJ will leave him to escort Alaina back to her body while she speeds back to her body posthaste, so if you want more than just her caught in the delay spring it before she gets Alaina to SunnyG. If it's just her you want caught here then wait until after.

[humble request]
My one humble request/concern:Since I will not be able to be online for this fight, if there's any way to avoid hitting the Oasis, I would be most grateful.
I realize that it would make a sensible target for Innocent Blood, given her current entropic powers (as would the Grove of Ancients). All I can do is hope that she just doesn't know about the place...

I'm here, but I've been sick for the last three days with a chest cold. Heading to see the doctor tomorrow for prescriptions and more drugs. I'll know what next week's work schedule looks like sometime tomorrow night.
In regards to the attack on the Sanctum, Sunny G is very astute about the comings and going within his sanctum. Because he does not actively display defenses doesn't mean they aren't there. If the battle gets to aggressive, the other force of good and pull back to his Sanctum and stand there ground.
I however would like to keep the Bazaar of the Bizarre thread. I like some of the NPCs and would like to use them again in the future.
P.S. Corin Wisp is around somewhere too.

A deity appointing a herald in her realm is the sort of thing which causes a disturbance just far enough above the 'background noise' to be noticeable, on Nirellia's equivalent of the Richter scale when she's present in her Realm and concentrating on scrying things...
Formulating her response... probably curiousity as to what's going on at present.

Yeah, that would definitely qualify as out of the ordinary. Just the sort of rookie mistake that LJ is bound to make... :)

I had thought that Patrick intended to have Pickman lead Lynora-Jill back through the labyrinth, and I was going to have something lined up at the other end of it, a final obstacle between her and home, but I haven't seen a post from Patrick recently...
Oh, and the nymphs in the eyrie are a scouting party.

lynora |

Yeah, Patrick's pretty busy lately and hasn't been on as much. In theory, we can just say that she goes back through the labyrinth without having to play it out in detail. Or that the labyrinth has moved. These are the dreamlands, these things happen. The route back might be completely different.
Edit: ninja'd by Patick :)

lynora |

Super pressed on time, but damn it I want some organic vegetables this year, and that means a lot of prep work ..
BTW the little scene with Nari chasing her crystal friend was great..
Thanks :) That was a fun scene to write.
And I understand about the vegetables. I'd be doing the same on my flower garden if the weather would ever warm up.

Charles Evans 25 |
The intention was not to lead any undead back to the Eyrie, but using slow-witted and slow-moving undead to try to climb mountains where boulders can be rolled down on them (and avalanches/landslides?) does not seem a terribly sensible way to go to me.
What wraiths Innocent Blood has at her command may be more effective against the regular inhabitants of the Eyrie than against fast moving skirmishers with weapons with serious reach, but how many wraiths does she actually have at her disposal, and does she want to risk them in a campaign against the Eyrie residents?

lynora |

We'll see what happens with that. Although wraiths will find that air elementals, invisible stalkers with fly cast on them, and psionic birds are a bit more of a challenge than the usual corporeal creatures they might otherwise face. You'd think the Army of the Air had been planning this or something :)
Edit: Also this is LJ's temple, and she may not have things under control, but there's still a good amount of positive energy getting channeled through the Eyrie.

Well, it's Friday, and time for some epic battles!
What better place to start than the defense of the Place of Winds? You know, so that somebody doesn't get, you know, killed. Hint, hint.
;)
Do you mean an attack on the Place of Winds, given that Innocent Blood has been in uncontested possession for several days now?
And as a matter of interest, where is Candle Lighter currently in all of this?

Fine, Mister Literal! :D
CL is currently demoted to Minor Villain status. He was actually originally meant to be the 'in over his head villain' guy, who was convinced that he was the Champion of Flame. He wasn't really ever meant to be a huge pure-evil guy. So his 'moment of fame' is over and he isn't exactly a BBEG anymore. In other words, he's laying low.
Also, I'll be gone for most of Saturday and Sunday, at the game con in Corvallis. Just a heads up.

Let's see... I can currently count three Champions(The Bard, Lynora-Jill, and VTPJ), my aliases(one not completely in control of power he doesn't even know he has, and one of which is a self-bound god), and the aliases of anyone else joining the party. There are too many in this OOC game to count. Two things i've been meaning to ask.
1: Has anyone thought it a good idea to tell Rio who Serafina really is? As far as I know, he still thinks she diead at the Club.
2: KC, why in the multi-verse is your alias a poodle?!?

There's a thread about it. Muahaha.
And perhaps they're hdiing it from him because they don't'want to upset him. That could make for an interesting story arc, with somebody (perhaps the Bard)arguing with somebody else (KC or one of my other ends-justify guys spring to mind)about being unhappy with keeping it from Rio.

lynora |

How long is this current skirmish going to last before they retreat and regroup? I was under the impression that it was a short fact-finding trip, since they are in way over their heads.
Edit: I'm also going to be offline again until this evening, so if you do retreat before that, assume Nimora comes with you. Unless she gets killed before then... (If something big comes after Aidan, she'll get in the way of it, so that is entirely possible.)

lynora |

Slow weekend by the look of it. See you all on perhaps Monday or Tuesday.
Lynora:
If you could clarify for me please that whilst the goddess of Dangerous Knowledge was around, causing trouble, she sometimes did it through Lynora-Jill?
She was trapped within LJ's body. There were two consciousnesses, but just the one body. So yes and no. She did it through LJ's body. But LJ herself was not present, temporarily locked inside a portion of her mind.

lynora |

Used Sky to place possible plot twists (how LJ could survive the battle she doesn't see herself surviving) at the Grove. Don't know if it will work though.
Oh, but that would be telling :) Whether LJ comes back and what changes happen to her if she does are honestly still in flux, dependant entirely on what the events of the battle actually are.
The plan is to pretty much have her show up and bring the full force of her power to bear against Innocent Blood in order to weaken her enough that she can be defeated, but it will have a high price. Right now I'm just trying to establish that she knows up front what the price will be.

*shrugs*
I set IB and the Tsar up to be an epic battle. I was assuming we would all head to the Roleplaying Thread either this Weds or Friday. I figure it should be a drawn out fight.
Question on the Board Warden: Does any Board Essence have any effect on him, or can he just keep absorbing it? He's going to be unstoppable if that is the case. I got nothing else for the BBEGs to fight him with.

Patrick Curtin |

Umm, if the Place of Winds unravels, doesn't that take out the nearby Eyrie, since indications at the start of the Eyrie thread seem to be that they are physically adjacent to one another?
I figured BW would stop the unravelling before it got too far. After all, IB's Army of the Damned is still in residence as well ...
