Nope, it's not just you. :(

I've had to change/limit Jack Hammer's personality to avoid giving offense.

I don't know if I feel worse or better knowing that. Well, I guess I just hope it gets better at some point. It really sucks feeling like I'm making people uncomfortable every time I post in one of the 'funny' threads, even when I'm playing to that idea.

I think it's just the luvvy dovey stuff. Occasional lechery/flirtation is OK. (I hope.) I think we just overwhelmed them. It'll balance out.

The other posters got a chuckle out of my version of the man-chasing ninja grandma in the theatre segment.

Gah. One day off and over 40 posts on multiple threads ...

Catching up ..stay tuned

Okay, Forest thread *posted*.
I may eventually locate Raukthon the toymaker's workshop on the edge of it, but don't otherwise currently have plans for it, if others want to make use of it. I'm assuming that Robespierre is currently the seniormost druid of the forest.

Put the germ of an evil alias on the forest thread. Punching out for the evening, have a good one folks ..

Am I supposed to be running Nimora's mother during the meeting with her? And if so when is it appropriate to bring her in?

lynora wrote:

Yep. You get to talk to yourself again, but if you can catch Patrick at least your brother can pick on Nimora too.

Don't count on Telestial for fighter cover. He has to suck up to people in power. His presence should lend credibility to your quest though.

I can do mom if you want Lynora. I have tomorrow off, so more time to post if you don't want to do her ..

EDIT: If you want me to do her just give me a brief synopsis of her personality and relationship with Nimora ..

Oh, if you would, that would be awesome. Thanks, Patrick :)

Melusine is very controlling. She wants what's best for her family and she isn't afraid to steamroller over them to do it. (Think Atia of the Julii only with morals.) She is an ambitious, political woman who is in charge of the wealthiest most powerful temple in a very wealthy and powerful city. She may not be the queen, but there's no doubt she's the power behind the throne. She has a place for every member of her family in her machiavellian plans, and Nimora consistently refuses to stay in the place set out for her. (First she was supposed to be a cleric and then when it became painfully obvious that wasn't going to take she was supposed to become a Knight of the Pearl.) Nimora just can't seem to grasp that helping people and working against evil doesn't always mean blindly charging in, and certainly doesn't have to be independent of gaining political power. (Aventurnus is a LG deity in case you're not that familiar.)

Not that brief, but hopefully that will do.

Just to be clear, is Ashaundra saying this in a she-wants-me-to-take-the-carnival-apart-piece-by-piece manner?

It's more a general observation. But she wouldn't mind watching if someone did decide to take the carnival apart in a piece by piece manner. Her oath was to serve the Jack of Tears for ten years, not the carnival. It's fair game :)

Is Ashaundra actually maybe slipping towards chaos, or at least neutrality?

Charles Evans 25 wrote:

Ashaundra is having a bit of an evil identity crisis. Not really sure how I want it to come out yet, but overall I'm trying to come up with a sense of purpose for her so that she can actually come back as a relevant villain again.

If Ashaundra finds out about the stars, I assume it's goodbye to RPG Lynora-Jill unless it is too late for Ashaundra to find any and subject them to negative energy treatment...

Are you looking for me to post anything with regard to the Bazaar of the Bizarre, Lynora, now that Arielle is back there?

Actually I have to run to the grocery store now that my husband is home to take care of the sick kid. I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Oh, hmm. Well hope it [illness] is nothing serious.

Charles Evans 25 wrote:

Just the flu. (The basic, ordinary kind.) He just needs a lot of babying right now.

Anyways, I have a few thoughts percolating on how to keep Ash from going after LJ right now. Just need some more time for them to simmer :)

Well; my take is that Ashaundra is currently preoccupied with her alignment crisis, which may give some time before she starts paying attention to other things.
Of all my current aliases, only the Grey Wanderer (for his own purposes) or Berholm II (if the dwarves want her to attend the trial) might deliberately or otherwise tip her off; I'm not sure how much anyone else's evil aliases would be likely to get around enough to know or to tip her off, except for maybe some of Kobold Cleaver's.

Guh. Long day off. Will update as much as I can tonight/tomorrow morning.

Not if the Mask has anything to say about it. He's keeping tabs on all the major threats at the moment.

Hey, I'm keeping an eye on the biggest threat around here, that little girl. Have you ever SEEN the destruction or chaos such a creature can cause entirely unintentionally?
And if anyone's going to send her to her room for the next couple of decades until she grows out of it, I reserve the right for it to be me. She's after my jewellery already. I swear to all the gods she'd be trying to steal my boy-friend next if I had one.

That's totally hilarious until you realize that your jewelry is made out of pieces of her mommy. And yeah, the threat of what effectively amounts to a toddler with the powers of a god? Seriously frightening. Y'all *really* want LJ back. ;)

And with that, I need to get some sleep. I think I'm coming down with the same thing my son has.

People in your culture have at times kept lockets with hair or nail clippings of heroes in, and you try to make out that I'm gross?

Her mommy is currently in Yggdrasil, in camera with her paramour, Jack Hammer. I suspect that in magical terms the only reason she actually needs the collection of stars to be approximately collected back together to manifest herself was because she was still a novice deity, and hadn't quite yet got the hang of 'I-don't-actually-rely-on-the-one-physical-form' bit when she was interrupted in her education by matters more urgent to an an older, wiser, being.
And I have perogative *not* to be frightened of Arielle, I assure you; a perogative which, incidentally, prevents me from doing anything worse to her other than sending her to her room for a couple of decades.

Okay, goodnight Lynora.

Edit:
Tired and slightly silly here. Goodnight all.

Don't even get me started on characters with massive amounts of power!
In my friday night games we have to deal with a new(and only one still alive) god who had the mentality of a 5-year old! We bound her powers after she ejected everyone from her castle and put a giant bubble around because we keep telling her she couldn't do a lot of the stuff she wanted to (in other words, she threw a fit). Once her powers were bound her mind caught up with her body and she started instant-messaging everyone she liked. She is still causing all kinds of trouble and has recently aquired the ability to shapeshift into small animals.

Heh. Simply have Arielle walk by and draw the shiny out of the stars leaving the gem behind. Too bad for the people trying to sponge off your power. lol. She is part Jack after all...

Given that you just admitted to having a crush on his little girl...Yeah. It is. :)

Okay, seriously calm down. It was a joke. The overprotective father fantasizing about doing evil things to a boy who is pursuing his daughter is kind of a trope. And given that the father in this case is a Jack, a group known for senseless violence, it just went a step beyond the norm. Besides which, he never actually threatened to do those things to Lk. Nor do I think he would actually harm a child.

The last post was a joke. Why does everyone take me so seriously?

Sorry :(

I just woke up from a nap and I think my sense of humor took a couple minutes longer than the rest of me to wake up.

Okay, about to shut down for the night.
Not much going on at present with any of my aliases.
I don't currently have anything intended in the immediate future for the ruined house.
The Grey Wanderer's minions in the bazaar have probably cast their eyes over all stars currently in the Bazaar anyway, (apart from those Arielle brought with her) and may temporarily withdraw to other locations, whilst discreetly monitoring any stars continuing to turn up for sale.
The only alias I have in a position possibly available to be interacted with is Nirellia, who is still trying to work out exactly where and what the precise nature of the Grey Wanderer's current game is, following Eiboria's report to her and subsequent raid.

Will put in some more development work on Raukthon, maybe, in the next few days.

Wishing you all an early goodnight, and a fine weekend.

Bleh. Sorry folks, another killer day today. Assume over the next few days that my aliases are following along with the action.

What action? :) So far it seems to be just...well, just me. Looks like we're set for a slow weekend. Oh well. It happens.

Sorry ... :) Spring is a busy time for gardeners. I'll check out the Oasis thread and update the action

I'm slightly confused here where exactly Alaina is in the Sanctum and which 'new arrival' she means? The cyberdragon, the yugoloth lord, the Herald? I'm not sure if I'm meant to respond to this or one of the others.

For those who may wish to know how I can to make Rio, I have placed the fanfic I made in his profile.

Posted a couple of late-comers to the treasure hunt at the Bazaar, one of whom is slightly more desperate than the other...

Edit:
Daelemos certainly isn't the name of the gnome....

Some spelling/grammar/punctuation comments on the first three paragraphs:
Spoiler:
“Rio” wrote:
…dislike of the all others types.

‘others’ should be ‘other’?

“Rio” wrote:
…when, upuon going to help the pokemon, I found a silvery-blue dratini with a large burn on it’s side…

‘upuon’ should be ‘upon’?

Incorrect use of apostrophe in ‘it’s’. Possessive ‘its’ deviates from usual possessive use, and does not have an apostrophe in; it is the shortened form of ‘it is’ which is the version that uses the apostrophe.

“Rio” wrote:
…The noise must have woke, because it started hissing back at me…

‘woke’ should be ‘woken it’?

“Rio” wrote:
…put a small bowl in front of it and returned to mi side of the fire…

‘mi’ should be ‘my’?

“Rio” wrote:
…giving an iridesent sheen in the fire light…

‘iridesent’ should be ‘iridescent’.

‘fire light’ should be ‘firelight’?
“Rio” wrote:
…The horn on it’s head looked like it was made from pearl…

Incorrect use of apostrophe in ‘it’s’. (See my first comment on this subject.)

“Rio” wrote:

Incorrect use of apostrophe in ‘it’s’. (See my first comment on this subject.)

“Rio” wrote:

‘a remember’ should be ‘I remember’?

“Rio” wrote:

‘nearbby’ should be ‘nearby’?

“Rio” wrote:
…I saw the dratini from last night wiggle emerge, a small leaf bundle in it’s mouth…

Whilst not conventional I shall pass ‘wiggle emerge’ as being representative of the language of the narrator.

‘it’s mouth’ – incorrect use of apostrophe, etc.
“Rio” wrote:

‘reaveling’ should be ‘revealing’?

As a suggestion, if you have a word-processor (such as Microsoft Word) available, use it to compose pieces of fiction such as this and copy/paste it to your browser for posting. Microsoft Word has a facility for checking spelling and punctuation (although the auto-correct on some proper nouns and fantasy terms it does not recognise can be annoying). It won't pick out everything, (for example 'mi' and 'my' are both real words) but it will help catch some errors.

Do not be disheartened by my comments; even professionally produced products feature occasional typing and grammar errors that have escaped the eyes of editors.

Unless someone brings some new stars to the bazaar to sell, Arielle has currently picked that location clean. She still has to go to the Sanctum and the Forest and possibly meet up with a certain black dragon before heading to the Grove and then into the Realms of Dream for the last ones.

Thanks for your advice, I'll get to work fixing it right away.

Taking an early night here. Goodnight.

Just checking in real quick. Charles Alaina was looking at the Herald with her gem. I had a hectic weekend, but tonight I should be able to catch up a bit.

Lynora:
Umm, I don't see any signs that Arielle scavenged the lains yet where the battle took place, so that's at least one more place for her list, and where Cardden the necromancer is about to go excavating. The gnome working for Daelemos is about to hit the forest, for a star for his master's hoard....

Will post more later (including reply to Patrick/Alaina), when I have the time.
