I'm signing out for the night too. LJ is resting at the Grove, and will stay there for now.

;) I'm considering renaming the Warden, SpongeBob, but the bad guys might not take him seriously.

Several times now I've mentioned a bazaar which I had imagined to be a place with all sort of merchants and all sorts of services; I'm wondering if it would actually be worth my posting a thread for it, or if it wouldn't really see much use? Would it actually be useful to have a location to go to shop or hire?

Could be cool, but likely a bit of work. Everyone expects 24-hour service these days though.

The Night Dragon just raided the Grove of Ancients, sucking a lot of accumulated bad stuff and damage out of it, but also effectively 'resetting' the grove's equivalent of an 'immune system' to 'brand new'.

Edit:
So the next time woodworm arrive, it will be as if the trees have never encountered them before...

Sentient creatures (treants, dryads, etc) still retain memories of things which they may have dealt with before; it's just that their bodies are suddenly not used to them.
Or if this is a bit too sudden and arbitrary, sentients could be partially or completely unaffected.

Funny - I don't feel any different after hitting the 1,000-post mark...but I'm okay with that :)

Yeah, it may be a bit different in the RPing universe than in normal Paizonia.

I've had the weirdest afternoon. I was supposed to be cleaning the house before gaming group gets here tonight. (Looks like another week when they'll just have to put up with the mess, but as I made pumpkin cheesecake, I think they'll find it in their hearts to forgive me.) I sat down and next thing I know it's two hours later. Apparently I'm still fighting off this bug and conked out on the loveseat. Guess I need to go to the doctor after all.
Anyhoo, I was planning on bringing in some mooks at some point in the near future. Air creatures mostly. And I was wondering what the best place to put an Eyrie is. I'm not sure if it really needs to be its own seperate thread, and was thinking of placing it within one of the others. Possibly the RPG Clubhouse since that's kind of gotten deserted at present. Thoughts?

lynora wrote:

Sorry to hear your under the weather Lynora, hope you feel better. I would suggest making a whole new thread. You as well Charles. The way I look at it is this: It's free, and if the thread isn't that popular, well ... it makes a great place to stage a battle, no? I re-energized the Place of Winds by having Brwaaktor die via Steel Tsar. If your thread doesn't prosper (or even if it does like Club Calistria), the destruction is good for interesting plot twists. My same feeling with mooks. It ain't anything to run a few concepts up. Hell I've got dozens under my profile. Aliana has three different incarnations on her own. I think it brings a lot more depth to the game when there are deaths, and things are wrecked in battle. Gives the storyline a more edgy slant.

No real chance to post tonight - I am part of a surveying-the-venue-for-PaizoCon UK field trip tomorrow, and I need an early night. Things are looking quiet (touch wood) anyway. (Fatal last words, surely. :D )

Yeah, I gotta get some things cleaned up round here, gonna be in and out fer me as well..

I think having an agreed-upon place to get gear or hire 'mooks' from wouldn't be a bad idea, even if it wasn't a thread in its own right. I know Devlyn could get use out of it, since he's a gear-based character who can't make his own stuff.

Besides, he really needs a place to get 'proper' clothing for Alaina for the next time she almost dies and has a wardrobe malfunction - he's running out of homespun to loan out! :)

I got the Eyrie started. It's pretty much a gathering spot for those creatures of air who are able to join in the battles. Disposable mooks :) Which we were starting to run out of, so voila, now we have a bunch more. Feel free to stop in for a visit or add air creatures (or anything that would be comfortable living on the top of a mountain) of your own.

Very cool. Something tells me I'm going to like the Starhawks :)

They're actually a creature I made for a story I was working on. They're night fliers and they have a pattern of white feathers on their bellies and the undersides of their wings so that they blend into the night sky. They are also highly psionic. And I couldn't resist the temptation to use them here :)

Ooooo - I'm seeing all sorts of potential campaign ideas involving these beings and the 'things' from beyond the Dark Tapestry. Must stop getting evil ideas now... ;P

I need to come up with something for the Oasis. We need to have some kind of protection in place that makes sense. I was looking at those druidic constructs in MMV as an idea, but I'm not sure...

Either that, or put something up like a Mythal over the whole Oasis to protect it. That might be simpler.

Oooh. The scouring constructs are a really cool idea....Or not if you'd rather do something else, but those sound pretty neat.

lynora wrote:

I liked the idea of them when I read the entry for the first time last night. Maybe I can do a little bit of both ideas. Nobody's laid claim to Sirone, so maybe...

The Bazaar looks really good. Anymind if a add an arms merchant to the list of shops and services.

I'm pretty sure that would be fine.

I had an idea, actually three of them.

As it stands, I will be off Saturday, MOnday, and Tuesday evening, so I am good to go for next week.

Great. Oh, by the way, LJ actually is at the Sanctum. Upstairs. In case you missed that in all the chatter. (Which is totally understandable.)

Okay, off to bed soon. A couple of minor aliases have put in appearances at the Sanctum.

Okay, I ended up talking to myself for an obscene amount of time (bleh), but I finally finished the setup for the Eyrie. Now I think it's time for me to go get some rest.

Just finished reading some comics bbok and I have a good idea for Lynora ascent, er roadmap, er education into divinity. Be back with some more tomorrow. Oh, I have some NPC merchants setup in the bazaar. Go ahead, check them out and buy something.

Have a good night everyone.

Just to let y'all know this weekend will be spotty for posting: Lots of RL drama, and I have to go prep my veggie gardens as well for the growing season. I'm sure I'll pop on, just not a lot. Assume everyone goes along with the story.

Okay, that's probably it from me for the day. Busy night up ahead here. I've made some posts on the Bazaar thread, and updated Shovastika's profile to give some idea of her effective class levels.

I'm not even going to bother reading all those posts right now...

Okay, those of you who watched some of The Bard's earlier post(like when LJ cast that ward on Rio back at the Club), may have realized I'm trying to insinuate CL killed his family a long time ago ,or Kaelar's delusional, whichever. If you want I can stop, but with help from KC I think this could be a really good story plot.

What do you think? Also, see kiba's latest post in the Grove. I want the opion of everyone on my harshness.

One more thing before I'm done for the day. I created a alias to fight Delvyn on some-what equal footing. When he makes his apperance over in the Oasis only those with ties to shadows will be able to see him. Think of what would happen should Delvyn had looked in a faulty Mirror of Opposition and you basically found out this character's creation.

Lynora I hope you don't mind but I'd like to make a starhawk incarnarion of Brwaaktor (he'll be something else in name). Let me know if you have any issues with that.

No issues with that at all. Sounds like a very interesting plot development. :)

So, we've been 'building up to the climax' for nearly a month now...maybe we should try doing it soon?

Kobold Cleaver wrote:

Go for it. Advance the plot. Have a bad guy attack. The only villain I have left in play is a minion (for now), so there's not much I can do on that count.

Edit: OKay, I have to ask, what's up with attacking your own characters again?

I'm kinda in a rough spot RL wise for setting up a big battle. Spring means plants, which means the monkey spends gaming time rooting in the compost pile and turning over soil.

I will eventually get Innocent Blood and the Steel Tsar out to play, and I have a few other minor leaugers like the Giggler as well if anyone wants to bring their baddies up for a beating.

KC, I have to ask with Lynora, what is up with killing your own avatars? If you don't want to post with them anymore how about setting them up to attack and letting someone else have a whack at them? I don't recall anyone ever having a shot at killing any of your avatars. This game is reciprocal: If you don't wish to let others kill any of your avatars, then no one is going to let YOU kill any of THEIR avatars. It's not like death is permanent, you can just put the avatars away for a few months and bring them back for dramatic effect after a summoning/ressurection/rebuild.

Sounds cool to me - we can try to give it a go!

My one concern, though, is that my time online is limited, as yours appears to be also. Getting tied into something, and neither one of us being able to do anything else until it is resolved is a real possibility. As Allura is now more closely tied to Devlyn, it would affect more than just us - which is why I tend to do more role-playing than fighting here.

I'm usually available online Monday through Friday, from 7:30am-4:00pm EST - if those times are workable, than we can give it a shot. Otherwise, you may need to pick someone else to square off against. I know I can't invest the time that most of the others can, so it wouldn't hurt my feelings any - I want you to be able to get the most out of the time you have online too! :)

Oh - and it's Devlyn, not Delvyn, by the by... ;P

I have killed none of my avatars recently. I have avoided killing my avatars. I altered my plans to avoid killing my avatars. I AM NOT KILLING MY AVATARS! |:(

I'm available to kill, and be killed!

Spoiler:
I'm thinking Acme might be a surprise hero, with his twin machine guns. HoD is immune to elemental damage, and resistant to other types.

Think I'll just give him a small scouting mission to start, so you'd at least be able know about him first. He won't attack unless attacked, so those that can see him might just think they saw into the Shadow Plane. But that's up to you isn't it? I know our time is limited, so how do you like this idea? When neither of us can post, the battle has moved to the Plane Of Shadow. Both Devlyn and Shadow Pelt are fully capable of doing so. As a side note, most of SP's fighting will be done while he's in cat form.

Devlyn can't technically go to the Plane of Shadow - he only has the Shadowdancer's standard Shadow Jump ability. The only reason he went to the Plane of Shadow when I first introduced him was as a plot device to explain why he wasn't in that battle with the Defectives - the proximity of the 'big nasty' that crashed into the woods was the catalyst for that little 'one-off' (which I cooked up because I had to log off right when the battle started).

I would suggest that if these two do cross paths and come to blows, any fights should be short and sweet. Just my humble 2cp, of course... :)

I know that. But you're still attacking them, which is kinda weird...

Edit: and you did kill the hobgoblins. and the wolf.

Don't worry too much about leaving Allura in limbo, although with both of you having limited time keeping battles short and sweet is a good idea. Believe me, I have plenty of other characters to run if Allura gets tied up in a paused storyline for a bit. :)

I know, but it would be rude not to mention it at least, since you swept in and saved my story arc. :)

I was beginning to wonder if it was going to be a quiet day - glad to see some folks logging in. Mondays require all the distraction we can muster!
