Grand Moff Tarkin and his artifact.

Spoiler:
The Death Star, but made with ten writhing mile long appendages so it would look and attack like a moon sized beholder.

I was just thinking that an organization like the Mord'Sith from The Sword of Truth series would make a great villain organization, especially in Cheliax.

1. Orbius Vhalanthu: the beholder mastermind from the Shackled City adventure path.

2. The rebel V from V for Vendetta. i can imgaine him running loose in Cheliax or Galt.

3. The lich Szass Tam from FR. maybe in Geb or Nex. Also he can one of those running the Aspis Consortium.

4. Smaug the Dragon from the Hobbit. Nuff said.

Darklight Sisterhood?

Elric of Melnibone, Stormbringer, and Moonglum of Elwher. I think they would fit in just fine somewhere like Cheliax.

Now. Million dollar question. ...Is it wrong to want Drizzt as a villain just so the PCs could kick his butt? Perhaps we wouldn't need him as a full villain, just some story in a child's tale. Like the boogeyman.

That was mean.

Yes, yes it was.

Yes, it's wrong. That's not a villain, it's a punching bag.

Now, if you let him slaughter a petting zoo in front of a class of first-graders, he might turn into a villain.

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned Cthulhu yet. He's pretty much the nastiest of the nasties, by his very nature, I may add.

I also think that Macbeth and his Lady would make excellent villains in a Golarion campaign. They seem tailor made as usurpers to an important throne, say a duchy in Ustalav or Taldor? Granted, I see a lot of similarities between Lady Macbeth and Queen Ileosa, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. While I'm on a Shakespearean line here, Iago would be awesome to put as a "support" for the PCs, masterminding their demise while seemingly helping them out. Shylock could be an unscrupulous Katapeshi merchant the PCs fall into debt with. Richard III would make a kick-ass monarch to oppose a righteous rebellion led by the PCs. And last, but not least, Cassius' manipulation of Brutus would be awesome to roleplay, with the PCs in the role of Marc Antony, out to avenge the assassination of their honorable master.

Damn I love Shakespeare.

Nah - have him slaughtered by a petting zoo controlled by a class of first-graders, then they drop a create greater undead on his corpse, NOW we have a villain ... under the command of 6 year olds.

Well, he's Earthbound. This was actually discussed by Paizo: They'll do Mythos stuff as often as they think they can get away with it, but only those parts that aren't tied to Earth. And Cthulhu sadly is.

But it's not as if we had to without evil creatures of staggering sizes: Mhar's only waiting to be freed and once that happens, mass genocide is a given.

I rather like Karla, the Grey Witch from Record of Lodoss Wars. Amoral, long view, detached, and manipulative as all get-out. I love manipulative villains.

Also, Daemona, from Gargoyles. Just a wonderful character, all around, caught in a cycle of vengeance that she just couldn't break out of, doomed to lose everyone she loved because of her own actions, but so desperate to put the blame on others. She'd be a very wonderful villainess.

And, last but never least, Largo, the Boomer Messiah from Bubblegum Crisis. Calling down the wrath of the heavens and scheming his way towards some kind of godhood, all with some crazy style and maliciousness.

Liberty's Edge

The Hitcher, from the namesake movie.

Let him join the PCs as a somewhat strange but helpful guy who just becomes more and more helpful but also crazier and crazier. Until he decides that they have betrayed him and hunts them to the ends of Golarion, killing everything that stand in his path (including both allies and enemies of the PCs).

And he is indeed unstoppable ...

Very OT, but may I know how you got that particular avatar/userpic?

I'd love a picture of Vimanda Arkona for myself...

Whilst you are 'signed in' go to the 'My Account' option, and once there, under 'Messageboard Settings' select the option to change your settings - amongst other choices it should give you the chance to select from 20+ pages of pictures one to use as an avatar.

You can also create aliases from the 'My Account' section and edit them to select a picture for them.

I second (or third?) Gerald Tarrant. One of my favorite villains of all time.

Cardinal de Richelieu and Milady de Winter.

Professor Moriarty.

The Seelie/Unseelie courts. The Slaugh, and the Wild Hunt.

The Order of the Blackened Denarii.

Pennywise.

Hmm, how would those 'port' over? Devils who tried to over throw Asmodaeus but failed? The fate of those who almost pass the test of the starstone?

Azlanti half fiend wizards whose plan to survive the star fall went sideways?

I like the last... Then you can have paladins of Aroden be the Golarion equivelent to the Knights of the Cross.

Well, you could simply say that the Fallen trapped in the coins are Fiendish Nobles that are being punished by Asmodeus, or that they are Planetar/Solars that fell from grace. In this way, obviously you wouldn't be limited to the 30.

As far as the coin-bearers, you could give them the half-fiend template + character levels as their base when not "battle-morphed." When battle morphed, they could be a fully realized Fiend of an appropriate type, probably with the class levels still intact.

Obviously, it would need some work, but the idea is still cool.
