Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Liberty's Edge

Now that the first three AP's have been fully released, I was wondering which one is the fan favorite?

The purpose of this thread is to give the fans a place to banter a bit on their favorite AP so far, and to provide the Paizo team some feedback on what resonated well with fans.

In particular:

1. How would you rank the 3 AP's?
2. What are your top 4 books?

Let me start off the discussion:

My ranking:

1. CotCT
2. RotRL
3. 2nd Darkness

Top four modules:

1. PF #2 The Skinsaw Murders
2. PF #11 Skeletons of Scarwall
3. PF #12 Crown of Fangs
4. PF #1 Burnt Offerings

I'd have to say for me personally:

1) CotCT
2) RotRL
3) 2ndD

1)PF #2 Skinsaw Murders
2)PF #9 Escape from Old Korvosa
3)PF #1 Burnt Offerings
4)PF #8 Seven Days to the Grave

Dark Archive

Having only skimmed the pdf files of last 2 volumes of SD (printed editions still in international transit), my view of the third PFAP is somewhat incomplete... however, there it is:

Favorite AP

- Second Darkness
- Rise of the Runelords

Top 4
- Skinsaw Murders
- Skeletons of Scarwall
- A History of Ashes

Dark Archive

1. Rise of the Runelords
2. Curse of the Crimson Throne
3. Second Darkness

The choice between Runelords and Crimson Throne was a tough one. As much as I love the great urban action in the latter, overall I feel that Runelords holds a slight edge. Like golem101, I haven't read the last two chapters of Second Darkness yet, but so overall I have felt it wasn't as strong as the previous two paths.

Rating individual chapters, I'd probably go with:
1. PF#3 The Hollow Mountain Massacre
2. PF#2 The Skinsaw Murders
3. PF#8 Seven Days to the Grave
4. PF#7 Edge of Anarchy

1. Curse of the Crimson Throne
2. Rise of the Runelords
3. Second Darkness (sorry)

Adventures

(Favourites)
1. Sins of the Saviours (PF 5)(RotRL)
2. Skinsaw Murders (PF 2)(RotRL)
3. The Armeggeddon Echo (PF 15)(SD)
4. Seven Days to the Grave (PF 8)(CotCT)

(Least Favourites)
1. History of Ashes (PF 10)(CotCT)
2. Fortress of the Stone Giants (PF 4)(RotRL)
3. A Memory of Darkness (SD)(PF 17)
4. Spires of Xin-Shalast (PF 6)(RotRL)

How that equals Curse of the Crimson Throne being my favourite,I don't know, but it is...although not by much..there were some awesome adventures in Rise of the Runelords and I can't help but support anything that includes drow..

Adventure Paths:
1. CotCT
2. 2nd Darkness
3. RotRL

Modules:
1. PF #11 Skeletons of Scarwall (Excellent dungeon, superb atmosphere, very good backstory, well-selected batch of monsters there, bonus points for the Hold of Belkzen article too)
2. PF #8 Seven Days to the Grave (Very well written, the first time I've seen a plague-themed adventure that worked properly, well-designed villains,

Spoiler:
Loved the part where the priestess of Urgathoa was transformed into the daugther upon death to fight again; that gave the ending fight an epic atmosphere very effectively.
)
3. PF #18 Descent into Midnight (An appropriately "epic" end to the campaign, liked the glpyh mechanics, a nice mix of encounters)
4. PF #2 The Skinsaw Murders (Excellent atmosphere, loved the mansion dungeon, the haunts are a wonderful addition to the game that I'm very glad was introduced)
5. PF #12 Crown of Fangs (Liked the siege of the castle with the whole castle being immense and mapped out, I like well-written adventures that are higher level, Also a good end to a campaign)
