Can you ID a spell-like ability as it is being cast with a Spellcraft check? Similarly, can you identify a spell-effect left by a spell-like ability with Spellcraft?

Hmmm.. Hadn't really thought about it. I'm not as good with the Pathfinder-fu, but under 3.5 spell-like abilities required no material, somatic, or verbal components, so my question would be: how do you even know a spell-like ability is being used (at the time of casting)?

Given that, I would fall back on the Spellcraft use for identifying a spell already in effect (once is takes effect), which would be 20 + spell level, IIRC.

On a related note: if spell-like abilities require no components, why do they provoke AO's? IS it because the "caster" is thinking really hard? Always thought that was weird.
