Hmm. Nice.
Are they scalable so you can have giants if you want, or halflings from the same character?
I've searched out a bunch of PDFs for old paper theater characters for use as extras. It's nice to have people who look like they're there for roleplaying as opposed to battle.
Not really designed as such, but it's a 300 DPI PDF, so if you cut out the images and play with 'em in a semi-decent graphics program, they'd be pretty scaleable.
These are just gnolls for right now; I'll be doing commoner and other townsfolk as sets as soon as I can clear the queue.

so are they for sale yet and if so linky?
Not yet. The Paizo guys seem to be busy with Paizo stuff, funny as that sounds. I'll shoot 'em over another e-mail and try to find out what's up. As soon as there's a link, I will post it, I promise. :D
Also, Immora's mini set just arrived in my inbox today; once I'm done coloring them and assembling them into a PDF, I'll put those up as well. Look for them in the next week or two.

Nice job N'wah. I use tokens all the time, I'll have to snag this when it comes out :)

Alright, I'm trapped at the day job for most of today, but tonight I'm FINALLY going to put the Minis assembly instructions together; they should be sitting there waiting for the Paizo guys when they come into the office Monday. Assuming same-day turnaround, they'll be available for purchase Monday afternoon; again, I'll post a link as soon as they go up for sale.
Monday and Tuesday will mostly be coloring, editing, and PDF assembly for Immora's minis (which look sweet, by the way, even with my simplistic coloring job; I used the camel from her pack in the first session of LoF, which I GMed last night). Assuming I get them all done, they'll get sent off probably Tuesday night for a Wednesday sale date. Immora's also been kind enough to take the Bestiary dudes off my hands; I'll let you guys know when those guys show up. Personally, I'm excited to see her take on the chupacabra and the doru div.
Assuming no major distractions, I might even get the first LoF NPC/monster set completed by Wednesday as well. Here's to hoping. :D
Thanks as always to everyone for their support and enthusiasm! The wait will soon be over. :P

This is a great idea. I wish paizo would actually put these in the backs of each of there product. Help those of us who spends all there money on Paizo products and not minis.
Right now, the Paizo Paper Minis biz is in the Alpha stages; I'm making not claims to what may happen in the future, but there's still a lot of time to explore various avenues for this product line's development. I do like that idea, though I'd have to hash out a lot of crazy details with the Paizo guys; also, if adding minis to each adventure ups the page-count, I don't want to be responsible for Pathfinder products becoming more expensive.
I would be interested in finding out how much selling actual, already-printed minis packs would cost; y'know, have unassembled minis on sheets in a little plastic-wrapped package. I know there's a lot of folks still using black and white printers (or no printer at all), so it'd be more convenient for them. Another potential (and again, none of this has gone beyond the hypothetical) might be bundling them into the map packs. Full-color, ready-to-assemble sheets with all the major baddies from the campaign, and all the maps from the AP, in one neat little package. I dunno. Just a thought.
As for right now, though, I'm really just focusing on getting all the packs in my queue finished, getting my work time into a coherent schedule, and making the minis as awesome as can be. But hey, it's fun to think of where these things might go in the future!

Oh, gods! This! I'd buy this in a heartbeat.. I'd get a subscription of these things if they had one.. I only just figured out how to successfully scale maps in GIMP (thanks to those that pointed it out), and this would be so very useful.. even if I wasn't running the AP.

Alright, hopefully the last update until the minis go up for sale. The covers are done, the instructions are almost done, and the sets will be up VERY soon (I have to arrange the instructions and the cover image for the instructions into one PDF, which requires a PDF editor, which I'm getting through OpenOffice, which is a 150 meg download, which I'm downloading now).
In the meanwhile, gaze at the pretty cover image for the gnolls! Enjoy!

I've been silently watching this for some time now. Your work is really awesome.
This is just another reason why Paizo is by far my favorite company right now. Can you imagine a place like Wizards discovering a forum member and working on paper minis with them?
Way to go everyone involved. Just let us know when we can give you our money.

Has anybody already asked the PDFLove question?
I've sent an e-mail off; just waiting for a reply from Vic. I'll let y'all know via this thread once I hear word back, or I guess if Daigle was able to successfully use the discount, he can ninja me here.

I'm excited about the Katapeshi caravan!
I'll tell ya, it's sweet. Even without LoF, it's a versatile set. Hell, the camel, for me at least, would be worth the price of admission. I might even make a little printable stand so's you can have folks ride it (I whipped one up for my LoF DMPC, but it's kinda unbalanced; I'd make a better one for commercial use).
congrats man that's awesome I can't wait till either payday or my refund to check them out and write a review
Awesome. I'm excited to see the reviews. Even if they're bad, I can learn from what people want to see, so it's all good.
And take your time, sir. I don't want to bleed people dry by forcing them to buy all the sets or something. I too am a poor man, so I understand.
Oh, and quick note to everyone else: as always, thanks! You guys made all this possible... well, and the Paizo folks, obviously. But if the fans hadn't had faith in this, no one would have, so CONGRATULATION! A WINNER IS YOU! :D

Hey, I didn't know these were in the works but wanted to chime in to say they're a great idea and my gaming group is already looking at them. We've been running through the APs too fast for the metal minis to come out in time, and are spoiled by the D&D prepainted ones anyway. We use paper minis for custom "our character" minis and for terrain/structures, and would totally use them if there's custom ones for an AP.
I'd love for these to include the "name" characters from the APs as well (or be in the AP PDFs, or something)! We've done some "extract the art from the PDFs and make paper minis" work and it's just so time consuming.

Yup, the current plan is to do one set per AP adventure (so a set for "Howl of the Carrion King", a set for "House of the Beast", etc.) plus a set of the Bestiary monsters (which are rapidly increasing in size, so expect to see your first Huge and Gargantuan minis in a little while). On top of that, I'm working on having more generic sets (like goblins, orcs, and undead) that can be plopped into just about any adventure or are just the kind of monsters that you like to have handy. These bad boys are all licensed through Paizo, so I'm able to do named villains (and not be forced to make, say, Barzoug the Grabber, or an orc priest of Grovabug or something).

"House of the Beast" preview/wallpaper is up and available. Get yours here. 1440 x 900 pixel resolution; if you need a different size let me know, but it's pretty easy to fix, even in MS Paint, if you're so inclined (though I don't know if Paint recognizes PNG files.

I'm too lazy to read all this, so excuse me if this has been said...if you get bored with the AP tie-ins I would love racial-class sets - imagine either a set of fighters (one or two for each race), rogues, wizards, and so on OR a set of dwarves (with one or each core class)!

Not sure whether its been mentioned:
- I would have someone create a set of weighted plastic bases that fit each area (5ft, 10ft 15ft, 20ft) with a good clip mechanism to keep the paper/cardboard straight. We can then re-use the bases and ensure the area is covered. Also no folding or other manipulation needed. (you may want to make these with an X to slide the paper into for flexibility to create 3rd terrain below)
- Put my vote in for backs (will look nicer with the bases above).
- Also I would purchase certain unique terrain pieces (lay flat or meant to go on a stand as above);
- I'd pay $8-10 for a reasonable select of stands; Otherwise $4 for a set or $10 for a module's worth of pictures. Would be nice to include one or two other art pieces ala tomb of horrors as player handouts.
- Think about including stat cards for use with D&D/Pathfinder (not mini game). Similar to this style but card size -> CLICK HERE
(the link from this thread -> CLICK HERE)
Thanks!
