Last night I started working on a new item. I began by using someone else's basic idea which he "tossed" out there and working it into an actual item. Maybe even the item for next year's RPG Superstar contest.
So I was rooting around for spells/powers/special abilities to give it when I came across one such a power from one of the Cleric Domains. I'm currently using the base price costs for a Bonus spell. Should I be using something else?

What are the costs of adding a Domain power to an item?
Tough tough question. Important consideration is if it is usable at will or not. And a *lot* of them scale by caster level.
For instance.. Dazing Touch, Charm Domain. It's a no-save, touch-range Daze spell, on any creature type, of any HD up to your level.
If you put that into an item, you would have to set a level on it. Then perhaps treat it as a 1st or 2nd level spell X Caster level (0th level cantrip + any creature type + no save - touch range = 1st to 2nd level roughly).
This is when the ubiquitous judge advice of "Look at what other items do and price accordingly" is needed the most. That or find an equivalent spell.
If it's one of the 8th level abilities, most of them are based on 4th level spells, and that seems appropriate for most.
An item shouldn't generally just *grant* the class ability by the way.
Oh, I meant to add that the minimum cost I've seen for a feat or class ability that isn't easily priced is 10,000. {Minimum}
