For a 0 level spell, it can be quite powerful. The Bard in our party casts it 6 times successfully, and becomes the relay for the party that is spread out somewhat in the dungeon. By the time he becomes 6th level, he only has to cast it once an hour to keep all of the party in communication.

I dont really see it as too powerful, though I also would not mind if its duration was cut to 1 minute per level or simple standardize all cantrips as non scaling and give it a flat 10 minute duration.

How spread out are you talking about? For a 6th level caster, the range for the spell is 160' feet. While it does not need line of effect, no part of the "route" can go out of the area of effect.
Not sure why your bard is casting it 6 times, as at 6th level, he can link up with 6 other creatures.
