It says so in the feat description of the PHB.

Where?

Power Attack (Combat)
You can make exceptionally deadly melee attacks by sacrificing
accuracy for strength.
Prerequisite: Str 13, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: Add an amount equal to your Strength modifier (or your base attack bonus, whichever is lower) to your melee damage rolls for 1 round (in addition to the normal damage modif ier from a high Strength score). Subtract the same amount from your melee attack rolls for 1 round. If your attacks are made with a two-handed weapon, add an amount equal to double your Strength modif ier (or your base attack bonus, whichever is lower) to your melee damage rolls for 1 round (the penalty remains the same).

Copied from the beta.

The Exchange

Sorry, I said the PHB (the incident Kruelaid is referring to was under 3.5 RAW). Whether it is a mistaken omission in the Beta or a deliberate change, I don't know.

Oh ok sorry thought we where talking in beta.

Liberty's Edge

Play an Invisible Blade. Daggers throw better then kukris and have always been my choice for that prestige class. Otherwise, its a small, simple weapon that any class can use. That alone gives it love without dumping into cross classing/feats to use it in depending on your class.

You want your fighter or rogue to specialize in daggers then go for it, but please don't complicate the rules. If we did it for daggers then they'd have to rework ALL weapons to make them ALL equal. Its just adding more when there doesn't NEED to be more. Just my two scents on the matter but wanted to say it. I've personally played a invisble blade before with twin daggers and it was a lot of fun. Found no need to up what they do.

Sovereign Court

Personally, I love daggers. My current Halfling cleric/rogue uses them as his primary weapon(s). With 2-weapon style, rapid shot, quick draw, etc, I am throwing 3 per round. Add in his bonuses and sneak damage and it's extremely effective as well as versatile. The small long sword would only do a couple more points of damage and I couldn't throw it, hide it as well or fight w/ one in my off hand.
