So this is probably a complete shot in the dark but have we learned anything of the nature of Giorge's affliction? If it means anything Spellcraft 27=4+23... I swear Invisble castle hates me.

From what you know something, probably this Shothragot he's talking about, corrupted his (man to tiefling), Mask's and the jaebrin aswell

Spellcraft 23

Spoiler:

It's not uncommon for someone to have the taint of an infernal or abyssal in there blood line. What is truely rare is for that person to be born one race only to have that aspect consume them. That in itself could drive one insane. But to have something/someone awaken it themselves would take a divine entity.

Religion Check 45+

Spoiler:
Shothragot is a special case, for this dreadful horror's origins trace back to the Invoked Devastation and the Rain of Colorless Fire, when Tharizdun's servants summoned forth his avatar for the last time. Whether or not its appearance compelled the use of appalling magic that brought death and devastation to hundreds of thousands is a matter of debate, but what is known is that almost as fast as the avatar appeared, so too did he vanish after the wrought destruction. Most scholars suspect the avatar was destroyed in the conflagration, but in truth, it was weakened, dreadfully so, and the powerful energies unleashed left the avatar crippled. Thus it fled into the bowels of the earth, where it waited

"If that is what you wish...Mask." He looks to the corrupted fey with sad, caring eyes.

"While not a spellcaster like your self I'm sure she will be a match for you. If I may, Perhaps the others would like to move out of the way. Either to the path or the mouth of the enterance. That way thaey cannot interfere, and the chances of them being hurt is minimal."

The entrance is 10' wide and 10' tall. The path is the east of the entrance and is 15' wide. The group knows in this case being far from this fight would be best. While CE Giorge is still a man of his word, but Mask lost in her madness will engage and kill anyone she sees.

Jahangir, you up for a little tag team?"

Still keeping a level gaze upon the two corruptions, the paladin replies, "Aye, Raizen." Gripping his falchion and channeling the celestial power of the Lion's blade (Activating: Brilliant Energy) the paladin addresses Giorge, "So be it."

And so this Dark Tournament begins. Paladin vs. Paladin, Dragon Disciple vs. Binder! I'll post initiative and actions later on. This will give you time to think about your plans of attack.

Rolled 1d20+28=39 for Knowledge (arcane) to get specific Info on Mask the Binder, i.e. abilities and weaknesses.

Also rolled 1d20+28=42 for Spellcraft to detect any ongoing spell and spell-like effects surrounding Mask and Giorge.

Lastly, from past encounters with Giorge and Mask do we know their preferred attack modes?

Raizen

Spoiler:

Her preferred method is hand to hand, but as a binder and nymph she also has other methods of attack. As a nymph she has DR, but since her corruption it's changed a bit. Her DR is 10/Cold Iron and Magic. She also has the power to stun and blind an oppenent with a look (Blinding Beauty and Stunning Glance). She has the uncanny ability to evade spells and attacks (Unearthly Grace [Cha to all saves and deflection bonus to ac]). She can also cast spells as a 7th level druid.

As a corrupted creature her touch deals vile damage. She has fast healing. And her spells are special attacks are harder to defeat (Enhanced Power [+4 bonus to all DC's).

As for her binding abilites you don't know much more than that she binds her soul with the spirit from outside the material realm. If you'd like to know more I need two knowledge (planes) checks.

For Lazaro

Spoiler:
My blindsense combined with the blindfighting feat effectively allows me to close my eyes and fight without any miss chance, correct?

Spoiler:

There are 9 auras covering Giorge. The undrawn blade being the strongest. It's an overwhelming Transmutation aura. I would need additional spellcraft to confirm their schools. They range from strong-moderate.

MSWord is not working so I cannot look up Mask's gear at the moment I'll get back to you.

AS for Giorges attack modes he preferred dual wielding blades when you knew him. But this new thing uses a sword and board style. The last time you saw him he was very good at it either. Even now you can tell he wants to draw the second the blade, but for some reason cannot.

Spoiler:
Blind-fight: In melee, every time you miss because of concealment,

you can reroll your miss chance percentile roll
one time to see if you actually hit.
An invisible attacker gets no advantages related to hitting
you in melee. That is, you don’t lose your Dexterity bonus
to Armor Class, and the attacker doesn’t get the usual +2
bonus for being invisible. The invisible attacker’s bonuses
do still apply for ranged attacks, however.
You do not need to make Acrobatics skill checks to move
at full speed while blinded.

Blindsense: Other creatures have blindsense, a lesser
ability that lets the creature notice things it cannot see,
but without the precision of blindsight. The creature with
blindsense usually does not need to make Perception
checks to notice and locate creatures within range of its
blindsense ability, provided that it has line of effect to
that creature. Any opponent that cannot be seen has total
concealment (50% miss chance) against a creature with
blindsense, and the blindsensing creature still has the
normal miss chance when attacking foes that have concealment.
Visibility still affects the movement of a creature
with blindsense. A creature with blindsense is still
denied its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class against attacks
from creatures it cannot see.

So my understanding is while you wouldn't have to worry about effects like invisiblity, displacement or blur. You still suffer a 50% miss, but can reroll due to blind-fight. And you maintain you Dex bonus to AC.

The ability that would negate your miss chance is Blindsight. I'm sorry, please have mercy on this DM

Missed the Knowledge (religion) chek. After all, my skill modifier is only +24.

Fragos states at the developing tag-team duel with mounting disbelief. "This is ridiculous", he mutters to Kelgan. "I'm all for fair fights and honour and glory and all that, but Giorge is possessed by some infernal monstrosity. We should beat him down and banish that ting from this world. Unless..."

I guess Break enchantment or Banishment won't quite cut the tie between Giorge and his possessor. But how about Miracle? Tha spell can do just about anything, after all...

"Really guys? This is what you want?"
Moves to a spot away from the entrance and equally away from the corruption twins.
"Well, allow me to set the mood."
Setting down my haversack and pulling 7 sunrods out. He proceeds to place them in a wide 'circle'.
"This attractive halfling sold these to me while we were in the Mersk Marketplace. I was saving them for an evening with Layla but this seems like a good use for them too."
They glow different colors and have a rose smell to them.
Tarlan returns to his spot.

Kutho knows honour is important but offering you're foes advantages like this are stupid

err guys..if he and his little friend are considered an adequate challenge for the group do you really think handicapping us like this is the proper way to do things?

Almost certainly not. I wasn't sure what to make of Raizen's suggestion. Rationally, we fight together but a tournament style is a bit more dramatic if foolhardy. I couldn't resist. However, they will be distracted maybe giving an opportunity. Fragos' miracle might just work.

your located to the north (top) of the map. The south, east and west all end at with a cliff. There is a path leading down the mountain in the west, but is not pictured.

Out of the 45 the group has collected, 17 have been destroyed.

Spoiler:
I never asked but is Raizen standing or hovering in his current position? If hovering how far off the ground?

Has our group actually destroyed any of these gems? If so, how did we do it?

Shadow Lodge

The group have desstroyed gems before. A last resort to keep them out of the wrong hand. The gems have the 'strength' of diamond or adamantine, but the fragileness of glass

Drawing his bow Giorge move placing himself infront of Mask. is now 20' in front og mask.

He looses an arrow at Jahangir.

Attack 1d20+27+8(favored enemy [human]/mortal hunting)=54; Damage 1d8+10+8(favored enemy [human]/moral hunting)=24-10(DR/Evil)=14 damage

As the arrow hit it's target it seems to react to Jahangir.

Raizen, Kutho, Fragos, Jahangir you are up

Casting Defensively; Haste - me and all allies gain +1 to Attack Rolls, +1 Dodge Bonus to AC and Reflexes; move speeds increase an additional 30 ft; making a full attack gives everyone an additional attack.

With a primal yell, Kelgan charges at Giorge.

Activating Mighty Rage, and Charging at Giorge. AC is reduced to 29, 4 point Power Attack; 1d20+34=50, 1d12+25=32+ 3d6=10 42 damage, or 33 if he isn't evil.

Does no one remember that I'm in this game! As posted way back when, I'm at initiative 15, so I think I was between Fragos and Jahangir.

Actually your go before Fragos. If you would all like to post your actions now that will be fine

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Realized that after I posted, edited into the above post.

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

I'm having a really hard time deciding whether to use that Miracle or not. I'll delay until the end of our turn - i.e. I'll act right before Giorge and Mask.

M Human Paladin 20

So wow those two are pretty far away.

The paladin judges the distance and makes a quick decision. Jahangir incants a war oath (Divine Favour +6 luck bonus atk/dam) Whispering a command Jahangir takes to the air (activate fly on celestial armour) unable to reach Giorge even with the flight the paladin flies to the rocks on the east side of the field using them as cover.

Tarlan, Fragos to go.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Sorry, 1 point of that was cold.

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

I'm using it! It seems like as good a plan as any, and it might even work.

Fragos runs towards the pair of unlikely villains. As he draws even with Jahangir and Raizen, he halts. Pointing his flaming sword at Giorge, he intones a spell.

I run 9 squares south. Put me between Raizen and Jahangir.

"Mighty Heironeous! A grave injustice must be undone and a good man restored. Cast the creature Shotragot out from Giorge's body and throw it back into the foul abyss from whence it orginally came! End its possession and banish it from the lands of mortals!"

Miracle cast! Lets see what happens next.

Tarlan's attack are easily dodged by mortal hunter. He turns a tearful gaze to his attackers. "I'm sorry...but...I have to kill you"

As the words come from his mouth, Giorge crumples over as Fragos' divine work go into action. A black miasma spills from his mouth.

Everyone within 10' of Giorge, I think that's only Kelgan and Tarlan at the moment at the moment, need to make a Will and Fortitude save.

As you cast the spell and ask for divine assistance a voice chimes in your mind. "What is this man to you that you would ask for such a deed?"
