"Haha! It won't last, though - the trap will re-activate soon. Now, where was the speaker?"

Did we see anyone in the room when the meteors were flashing?

Lazaro:

Spoiler:
I'll look at the weapon enchantment, but I don't see why I wouldn't take it. I'll get back to you.

Lazaro:** spoiler omitted **

As you all make your way through the room you notice empty stone armor, and a lonely double crossbow.

The jaebrin was no match for the energy drain and implosion

Map Update

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

Do we get to loot the bodies?
Or is there anything worth taking?

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

"The trap resets in half a minute or so, so let's keep moving. Once we're out of its range, I can fix you up."

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

Tarlan gets moving quickly on his slightly wobbly legs.

M Human Paladin 20

Seeing the shaken figure of Tarlan Jahangir furrows his brow in concern but nods quickly to Fargos' advice for haste.
Raizen do you need some healing? Lazaro would Restoration help Tarlan? ie are they permanent levels? .. Spellcraft 20+23=43 If they are not permanent I will use Restoration once we're clear of the danger.

If you wish to loot the bodies by all, but you only have 4 rounds till the turret becomes active once again. The dark red dots mark where the traps range end.

As for what you can see from a glance though. There are three double crossbows. Seven suits of stoneplate armor. Finally 8 klar

Temporary level, but after 24 hours they become permanent. So restoration would help

M Human Paladin 20

Once clear of danger Jahangir invokes the True Faith of Al Akbar and channels the power of his god to restore his drained companion.
Restoration cast. I assume it would be alright to just deduct 100gp from savings (I probably should've looked at material components before

Jahangir wrote:

Might as well get some healing, we might not have time for it later.

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

You got hit a few times, right? Have two Cure critical wounds - they give you back 39 and 37 hit points, repectively.

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

"Thanks Jahangir. I'm glad to have made it out of there again before the second spell went off."

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Raizen is at 250hp with 6 Vile damage remaining, Tarlan is at 272hp with 2 Vile , and Kutho is down to 180hp from the battle with 14 Vile aswell.

With the spell turret to the north you head south. Down the hall you see a dim glow coming from the east. A magic forge left from the previous owner.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Kelgan moves to the front of the party and listens for any activity.
perception: 1d20+24=31

What marching order are we in anyway?

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

I'll be second.

How do we heal vile damage?

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

I'm pretty sure it can only be healed in a consecrated area.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Heh and that's just what I was about to ask too, thank you Kelgan.

Perception

Spoiler:
You hear raspy, labored breathing coming from the forge.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human
Tarlan wrote:

Vile damage can only be healed by magic cast within a consecrate or hallow spell

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

"There's something ahead. It sounds injured."

Before we move on, I'll repair Kutho for 32 and 40 damage. I have two spells (Death ward and Spell immunity) left for spontaneous Cure critical wounds now. I'll take care of the Vile damage once we can re-memorise spells.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Kutho is at 230. Kelgan you are 5 feet from the opening. You can step up and peek around the corner if you wish.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Kelgan moves to look around the corner, but doesn't actually move that stealthily.
Stealth: 1d20=8

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Kelgan looks around the corner. Laying in the warm glow of the forge six jaebrin. There labored breathing echoing through the room.

All of them are asleep. Perception check.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Kelgan mouthes the words "Be quiet." to the rest and continues to look into the forge.

Perception: 1d20+24=38

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Perched high on the ledge above the forge is a lone raven. It's head moving side to side.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Kelgan steps back to the rest of the party and whispers [smaller]"There are 6 sleeping fey and a raven sitting on the mantle. Tarlan, do you want to risk sneaking in with it watching?"

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

Tarlan gestures, in a way that he hopes everyone will understand, that he can sneak in a take out the raven.
I'd like to quietly peek into the room and see what is causing the noise.

Tarlan quietly moved up to Kelgan and looks into the room.
Stealth check (1d20 53=69)
perception check (1d20 28=29)

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

Ninja'd...
(Whispering) "Can someone see if that raven is just a raven and not a dragon shaped as a raven?
Otheriwse, I will go in and take it out and start doing some damage to those sleeping monstrosities."
Can I use those rolls above for my per and stealth checks? or reroll?

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

"One raven, indoors? It's gotta be someone's familiar. Kill it; I'll drop a Blade barrier on the sleepers. That'll wake them up in a hurry."

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

(Whispering) "Sounds good to me... though I could try taking them out and if needed get out of the way for Fargos' spell."

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

"You can't kill six of them at once. I'll shred them - as they bounce out of the storm of blades, the heavy hitters will finish them off."

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

"Ok we'll go with that plan."
Lazaro, what do we need to do?

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

I'll get to your posts in a moment or two. I've had some computer problems, and lost my layout and baddie writeups. Please standby.

"Affirmative on that Tarlan." Raizen hovers off the floor.

Take 10 on Fly is 30.

For Lazaro

Spoiler:
I am seriously giving thought to blasting the raven familiar with a finger of death he he he

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Not completely back to 100%, but here we go. The hallway is 10 feet high.
The raven is not 'natural'. You have all encountered this before. The raven belongs to the binder Mask, and is actually a summoned minion.

As Kelgan and the others make their plan of attack...

Perception DC 27

Spoiler:

A light, almost unnoticeable wind passes you all. The wind swirls around the room and in the same instance the raven is gone.

Knowledge Arcana DC 27

Spoiler:

This is no ordinary wind. It's a whispering wind spell. A warning to the jaebrin.

I'll be posting a map shortly other than Tarlan and Kelgan. Can I get what order you're in. Two characters will be occupying the same space. The square behind you all actives the spell turret.

Map Update

Placement pending

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

Placement looks good to me. As Raizen can fly and Tarlan can walk on walls, they could conceivably occupy the same spaces as other PCs.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Perception: 1d20+24=38

Kelgan raises his axe in preperation for the fey.

Initiative for the upcoming fight: 1d20+3=20
Also readying an attack on the first thing to come out of the door. Rolls under spoiler:

Spoiler:
5 point Power Attack, 1d20+27=30, 1d12+22=34+ 3d6=7 41 damage

Male Changeling Fighter 4 / Ranger 1 / Warshaper 4 / Swordsage 12

Percept & Init (1d20+28=36, 1d20+11=30)

Order looks good to me.

Tarlan enters Assassin's Stance.

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

Initiative 13+7=20.

M Human Paladin 20

Perception 20=8+12

Initiative 13=9+4

Jahangir's falchion stands ready as his body is tensly coiled ready again for the pitch of battle.

Place Raizen hovering above Kelgan if the height of the corridor permits; otherwise the present placement is fine.

"The jaebrin have been warned! Attack now!"

Surprise Move if allowed

Quick rule question: When I cast Blade barrier and goes for the 'circular wall' option, can I opt to fill the area inside the wall with blades? Or is it strictly just a thin wall of blades?

Sorry Fragos, it is just a wall of blades.

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

Aw, crap. There was something appealing about filling the room with a storm of blades after Raizen stuns them and just having them shredded. I guess we'll have to kill them the old-fashioned way. Good thing my sword is cold iron - that'll get the faeries' attention.

You could set the blade directly on them when forming the wall

Male Human Cleric 16/ Ordained Champion of Heironeous 5

I'll just cut them up with my sword. BTW, is there a surprise round? As they were sleeping, they'll start off prone, right?

Yeah, just like Senbun Sakura Kageyoshi.
