Just curious to find out if there are any plans in the future to develop a video game of any kind using the Pathfinder mechanics.
I am not familiar with the OGL and unsure of how or if it would influence that decision.Peace out.
While the mechanics of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game are available for use under OGL, the OGL prevents the use of trademarks such as "Pathfinder" or "Paizo" without a license from us. (Using our Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting would also require a license.)
We'd love to talk to an established video game publisher about licensing those things, but nothing is in the works yet.

I know you guys are looking into publishing novels (a good first step to reaching people unfamiliar with Pathfinder) but after that is done I would strongly suggest indeed contacting a video game publisher. If there is a way to advertise better then a good video game, I don't know it. I mean nothing beats pen and paper to me, but a lot of people find out about settings through this way. I know plenty of people who were introduced and grew to love the realms just based on the Baldur's Gate series (even if it wasn't all that accurate, it didn't matter).
Anyway, fingers crossed and all that ^_^

I too have been wondering when we might see some books based on the Pathfinder universe. I always read the D&D books that I could get my hands on, regardless of which Setting they took place in. Would Paizo maybe be willing to hold an occasional contest for aspiring authors that would love to flesh out some characters for the world? I don't know, maybe just give a location out of one of the current source books to use as the backdrop to start. Some sort of short story (okay maybe 50 pages would be best as short), to see what could help grow Pathfinder? Memorable characters are what drew some of us into rpging in the first place.
