Better yet, let's go back to random vehement outbursts about Bush, Conservativism, Christianity, the U.S.A., followed ...
... followed by random vehement outbursts about Obama, socialism, Islam, and Canada*
There have been some good discussions about politics on these boards. They just get buried in the same threads as lousy discussions about politics. I do learn something from the people on these boards whose political views are different from mine and hope that those 1d20 random people don't stop the better conversations out of fear of the worst.
*Note, no one has, in my recollection, actually attacked Canada on these boards; I just don't get to play the victim card often, so I slipped it in.
EDIT: Okay, 'pres man' just attacked Canada. Singlehandedly. We will return his corpse after the polar bears are done with him.

Careful what you wish for. ;-)
Canada's just on the other side of the river here. All I need is a boat large enough to hold all of the Celine Dion CDs in the US, so I can 'return' them to you.

Or you could just set-up a massive speaker bank and blast her blasphemous rendition of You Shook Me All Night Long followed by an infinite loop of My Heart Will Go On.

This, to me, seems like it would go against one of the UN's rules on human rights or something. Cruel and unusual to say the least!
I beg of you, for the sake of the country I call home, take her back to Vegas again! Those were the best three years Canada's had in a long time!

For three years, in just about any area of the board, I'd have to intermittently hear Bush bashing, or Christian bashing, or Conservative bashing, or U.S. bashing, and it was not only tolerated, it was "business as usual."
What did it have to do with anything? f&@% if I know.
So, I really doubt it will end. It's always been that way.Even though I'm on the other side of the coin, I'm with ya Heathy. So tired of this us vs. them mentality thats pervasive. It's not going to help and is hurting us way more. And I don't know if it will make ya feel better, but I'm sorry that the 'other team' makes you sad. Hugs? Pizza? Friends?
I think my motto for the election was WHY CAN'T WE JUST BE FRIENDS YOU JERKS?!
Pizza....moi faivrit food!

I started playing D&D back when Carter was president... Recession, inflation, unemployment, gas shortages, trouble in the middle-east, Russia throwing it's weight around, an unpopular war recently fought by brave souls and ruined by politicians, and rampant quasi-socialist liberal agendas...
And D&D did a fine job of distracting me from the sad reality of it all.
Seems like old times... :)

Ditto.
Just remember when you're down and out, and need a friend, that Paizo will be there with a hand to lend.

Only the French can surrender that quickly. You have to wait a minimum of a full day.
* searches for CDs of Barry Manilow and the Captain & Tenille to add to the war chest* <just because>
Rush and Shania, we'll keep. Rush rocks, and Shania she's well, err...Hot! You think she's a tree-hugger? I like tree-huggers.

OK, for a Canadian rock band they rock enough. Not like I said they were better than American rock bands.
Hey, since when can a French Rodent Chef weigh in on rock?! Are there any French Rock Bands of note?

I can't stand Shania because I heard too much about her, growing up in the same town as her and all. There was a radio station that should have been called 'all-Shania, all the time' it was ridiculous.
You can't have Rush though, because you guys have never had them! They are Canadians through and through. Come on, they have a song about Maple trees rising up to overthrow Oaks! That's their feeling towards America right there... ;)

Trust is the only French metal I can think of offhand. They wrote the songs that Anthrax covered, "Antisocial" and "Sects".
Daft Punk and Justice are two amazing French dance/techno bands!
**EDIT** Add AIR to that list of electronica bands from France. AWESOME!
And Beldar and Prymatt were from France! "MEPS!"
| Emperor7 |
Darn French instigator. No French Rock bands to offer for consideration, eh? (Tish, you spoke Canadian. ooh la la!)
I said Rush was good. Even better since they have a song about trees.
The River Styx band though may be the last band you ever hear. ;-)
EDIT: OK, we have one. Too old for dance/techno.

OK. Time expired. Sarah Connor Chronicles, this week. After Sumer Glau blows away the 3 house robbers, then has this 'What's wrong?' look on her face.

Of French metal and assorted acts, one could also mention Paysage d'Hiver and Elend, both great.
French rock has not made it to mainstream, but there are some good acts...
