Valgrymr's homebrew needs players.

Gamer Connection

my pbp could use two or three players; we are doing 3.5 rules and make a level five character; could use some heavy fighter types or a cleric or mage; or whatever.

We are pretty heavy on roleplaying; flavor if this adventure is Ancient Greek and the foe of choice for this adventure is the dreaded undead.

most posting updates happen Sun-Wed; with a few posts on other days; check out our thread and make up a character. Place a post on the thread if your interested and we can talk here or on my pbp discussion thread about any new characters; this is a perfect time to join as the characters are all at the Oracle of Delphi and just about anyone from anywhere can be there to ask the Oracle a question; so if you want to be summarian or bablyonian or egyptian or american indian or heck; chinese it is all workable; am using most of the modern world mythos in various parts of the world and a few fantasy ones as well.

Join in; have some fun; save the world; it needs it or some save the world type might come along and decide to recycle '}

Interested player here, will post character info to the discussion thread

I'm interested. I wouldn't mind a female warrior type.

there's room in this game for those who have that 3.5 itch they like to scratch, new players to pbp games are welcome also :)

we need more heroes :)

I'm interested. What's books/classes/races allowed?

here's the OOC thread

Val, said he has most books so pretty much they're all allowed, one player was even allowed to use something from one of the Kobold Quarterly, so far I've only seen him state that the Tomb of Battle isn't allowed.

pretty much any race, though you have to deal with any race complication, like Gnolls, Snakemen are shoot on sight and ask questions afterwards.

Starting level is 5th including race or template adjustment.

I believe the first two pages of the OOC thread cover most of the details.

yep; pretty much if I have the book it is allowed; all kinds of races are allowed; but you probably dont want to play a reptile or a devotee of chaos as that would be something extremely difficult to overcome until you know the world a lot better. Being undead could get you killed as they cannot survive within 100ft of a piece of Osiris body; so that would be a huge problem at the end part of this adventure.

so; if you want to play an ogre; or some such; have at it; I can help you come up with a in game concept

I have many of the Dragon magazines too; so you can use that stuff; be nice to see and orc or flind or ogre or something hehe; fey are great also; the fey are already watching the group so easy in to the activities from there. As well; anything air or water type has an easy in also. And come to think of it; the Devils have a definite interest so that way has a inside track also if your thinking Infernal.

Roll her up; get er done :)

Hey Vale, Long time no see!

How many are you looking for, exactly? Glutton for punishment that I am, I certainly wouldn't mind trying another interesting concept.

And you knows I luvs deh magic-users! ;)

Laters,...

I'm thinking of either a hexblade or warlock, possibly drow. how does that sound?

There's plenty of room, and the dedicated spellcaster role is wide open :)
just post your charater concept in the OOC thread, also the first couple pages I believe cover character generation details, so include any die rolls with your post

see you there :)

sure; lots of choices available; everything from pure caster to heavy fighter; seems we have a lot of light fighers and specialists; hehe a barbarian might be fun mix to the group; we have one drow who took the royalty background, but there is pleanty of play there; most other elfs are not really available; a dwarf would be good too; really just about anything; even an orc; orc barbarian would be really really cool :)

we still have some availability one more would be cool; did i miss anyone; maybe two; a heavy fighter and a healer type would be helpful to the group; but just about anything; need to get this going soon though.

repost if i didnt reply or missed it; post on the discussion thread as I dont check this thread as often to my shame

Anyone who wants to join up; still have one or two openings :)

Scarab Sages

I'm interested what's the start-up, point buy, elite array? Do we start out with the standard gold for 5th level and are there any class restrictions? Because I'm thinking about a half-orc swordsage (the book of nine swords).

All of Val's start up info is under his play by post discussion thread. After you read up on all of that. He can help you out from there and answer any questions you have.

I dont have that book; so have to say no to book of nine swords. Any other ideas? I know of one other guy who is very likely to join up as a heavy fighter. Having a ork half or otherwise along would be cool; shaman; fighter; barbarian, druid; lots of possibilities abound; read up the discussion forum and the pbp thread to get background on the themes ongoing; there is discussion about lots of races and lots of character ideas thrown out; but pretty much; we can work in just about anything; i do limit to the books i own for obvious reasons.

character creation is discussed in prior pages; not a point buy; but no farmers are expected; meaning 4 stats around 9-10 range; players should be heroic in this game; so I expect most scores to be 12-17 ish with at least one high one on a prime stat since I do 4 dice take the best three; reroll ones; and do two sets; take best of the two; that will put pc characters above normal joes; above normal but trained joes; on on par with monstrous heroes but a most pc stats below Lord type heroes until they mature in my game.

gear is entirely dependant upon where the character comes from background and culture-wise.

Val's game has an opening for one Hero. If your interested please check out Val's pbp discussion thread for character creation and to answer any questions you may have.

Dark Archive

I wouldn't mind giving this a shot. Is there any limits on races?

There are some limitations on race. We can discuss that over in Vals, pbp discussion thread. We can talk about your idea's there.

we could still use a player if anyone wants in.

Looks like our rogue hasnt played in several weeks; anyone interested in my pbp game playing a rogue; let me know

I've got an idea for a Healer (yup, that healer) if the cleric falls through.

I could play a rogue if you still need one. I am however a newcomer to PBP so if you want someone that is more experienced I completely understand. I do have almost 30 years of experience playing D&D at a table, so I'm not a total newbie.

Would you be wanting for someone to take over the character? Or roll a new one?

Well, in my Valegrim homebrew 2; Brother Kedan hasnt emailed me or posteded in some time or answered any email; so not sure whats up; I figure I would give him a bit more time; if you want to get a guy ready to go; that would be cool; party needs a healer and doubt anyone cares if there are two.

Me'mori wrote:

yes; they certainly need one; there is a very developed rogues guild in my world; it is international at this time and age; one of the few international organizations which is why such a informed and networked player is important to the group; a more holistic view as it were.

Currently; in my Homebrew; the party is staying at the rogues guild; so get hoping on your character ideas and you can join lickity split.

pretty much all the regular player races are available as well as some others like Orks though each of those monster type races will have some difficulties in many cities and the like, but easier times in some places like anywhere on the Southern continent.

also; lots of cultures are available; I use real work and some fantasy cultures; party is currently in the greco/roman area; celts a bit to the north; but eyptians; summerians; bablyonians; norse; chinese; japanese; and others are good to go; there are also some more specialized cultures as well. One thing to keep in mind is a rogue should be able to mimic and get along with all kinds of group; fit in pretty much any social fabric as a mind set; the world is not as prejudice as it once was about race; but I would stay away from any chaotic race or alignment as a general rule as it would bring special difficulties to your player that as a first time player in my game you might not want.

somewhere in my homebrew discussion page near the beginning is all the character creation stuff.

That would be early on, near the top of the first page.

Here is the (somewhat smoothed) framework for the Healer, submitted for your approval.

Great, posting on the OOC thread.

MY homebrew has like 3 healers and doesnt really need another; the game that needs one is my homebrew 2; which has no active healers and I am ghosting the only one for last several weeks as he is MIA.

that is a level 1 game; we could really use you in that one is you dont mind playing a level one game; is only a few hundred posts; lots of good action I think and easy to catch up on the story line; rather than my older homebrew which is 4505 posts.

Your character would fit in well in the homebrew two; the Grecko Roman area is just South of where the party is; and there are lots of Grecko Roman settlements very close by so your just a short chariot ride away.
