Deathless means I no longer age. The Monk’s Timeless Body means I no longer take penalties for aging, but I still die when my time is up. Does Deathless mean the same thing (that I don’t take aging penalties but still die at the end of my life) or am I immortal (at least, not dying of old age)?

Liberty's Edge

no
Deathless mean you become an undead
you are already unalive and no partyof the natural cycle anymore
the monk and the druid are still part of the natural order, they move away when their time is due

What kills me is the useless power.

Control 8 hd of undead is useless

1. Fix it so they can control undead such as a cleric does
2. Remove it and give them a power that's worth useing

Well, unlike you it seems, I can think of many interesting things to do with 8 HD of undead. Sure, they won't last six seconds against a beefy fighter or half-competent cleric, but I don't really think that's the intended usage.

It's not they cant do with 8 hd of undead. I like that but how do they get them?

I think they need a power to control them, others seem to think it only can be done with spells such as command dead.

if it does take a spell why have a power at 1st level you can not use for at lest 3 levels

So allow them a way to use it or just give it to em at 4th level

Have to agree here. Whats the point of getting a power at 1st level that you wont be able to use.

Perhaps something to this effect.

Through concentration the necromancer can gain control of one mindless undead creater such as a skeleton or zombie. The creature is allowed a will saving throw to avoid being controlled. The necromancer must maintain concentration for this effect to continue. Furthermore if the necromancer has other means to gain control of undead they my control up to 8 HD of undead rather than the usual limit.

Liberty's Edge

mmm ok certianly they double the number of undeads he can control, but still you are right they took to much time tobeable to use such an ability...

i would like to see as are shown in some rules that undeads could be created via feats, beginning with weak undeads and continue with more powerful ones.

or use an "animate dead" similar to "summon" spell

also i would say that animating non-sentient undeads is not an evil thing

lOW level undead companion would rock, There is a spell from the hallowfaust book that does this.
