Paladin 5/ Cleric 3 channels energy?
1+CHA times 1d6 damage
- and -
3+CHA times 2d6 damage
Or...?? How maybe as Cleric 5
3+CHA times with 3d6 damage
Any ideas here? I guess this isn't a common multi class choice but it doesn't seem too ridiculous to me. Shouldn't stacking rules should be incorporated into all class features for clarity?

I would advocate giving the Paladin the same frequency of Channeling as the Cleric. Cleric and Paladin levles would then simply stack, except that Paladin levels would be applied at a rate of Paladin Level -3 (with a minimum of +0).
It would be even easier if the Paladin simply got Channel Energy at level 1 just like the Cleric, in which case the levels would simply stack.

I agree with you. On both counts.
