Why is there no Design Focus thread for Ranger Combat Styles???

Classes: Barbarian, Fighter, and Ranger

I have seen that the Paizo Lead Designer created a Design Focus thread for the Barbarian's Rage System. Can we have the same done for the Ranger's Combat Styles. There are sevaral issues that need to be addressed.

First, Rangers are missing several feats in both styles contained within the current beta material. I have not seen any comments from the Paizo staff addressing what they plan to do about this issue. Second, no replacements have been offically identified by Paizo for these missing feats in the two combat styles. Third, the combat styles could use more flexiblity instead of just Archery and Two-Weapon Fighting.

A lot of people have come up with some great suggestions but I haven't seen any Paizo Designers comment about whether they going to use any of the ideas. I would like to see a Design Focus thread setup by Paizo that contains some of the great feedback that has been put forth by the community. It would be great if the this could happen in the very near future.

Thanks

I think that it's a valid aspect of the class to investigate, but now that the focus has moved from the melee classes to divine warriors, I don't know how much attention Jason will be giving the older sections. It might be something to hold onto until we get to the feats playtest at which point the Ranger feat tree can be brought up again within the correct context of the playtest schedule.

Re: the missing feats - I don't see an official response, but there are several threads and two main paths people took. Pick which one you like.

From what Jason's said, I don't think there will be room in the Pathfinder PHB for more Ranger fighting styles. That's too bad, since I'd really like to see at least one more style, but that may be a limitation we're stuck with.

They'll have to wait for another book.

I doubt there will be more Combat Styles in the Core Book. It's just not a priority.
Likewise for Paladins of Chaos, Evil Paladins, etc...

And I would expect the Feats to be fully revised when that Chapter is dealt with, not before.

And feel free to start any [Design Focus] thread you'd like, I believe the first ones were started by community posters, not Jason.

No they're Jason's only to mark thread's he would like input on. The [Think Tank} threads where started by draco if I recall I think that's the ones you mean. And that's the title you should use to start your own.

Slight mix-up...
But I still suggest the OP continue to contribute thoughts/ create their own threads relavent to the current focus topics.
Just because Jason didn't create a thread doesn't mean he won't adopt ideas from it into PF.
(and plenty of other posters post out-of-focus, so don't feel limited :-)

very true. I have made several styles myself over they years and a Think Tank or more focused thread could be useful It could be here for all it matters more styles would be cool.

I think an obvious combat style would be a mounted combat style. Particularly since a paladin could take a horse as his animal companion.

Perhaps also a "guerilla" hit and run (Spring Attack) combat style.
