Does heavy shield count as heavy armor?

Another doubt from 3.5 rules which havent been addressed in pathfinder.

I have a rogue/fighter who has evasion. Fighters can use heavy shield. Can the character use evasion while wearing a heavy shield and light armor?

The rules states that evasion can only be used while wearing light armor, but doesnt say a thing about shields.

Opinions?
