James,
I know you met hundreds of people last week at Gen Con, but on the off chance you remember me we spoke for about 20 minutes Sunday afternoon. I was the big guy in the "Cocks" t-shirt (that's the USC Gamecocks for all of you who have you minds hanging out with otyughs in the gutter) who had the PC ripped to shreds by the hydra.
Anyway, I subscribed to PF based on our conversation and will be subscribing to the other products as well. My DM (who is kind of the RPG God Father of our part of Atlanta) is also totally on board with Paizo and we're kickin WoTC and all of their products to the curb.
Thanks for taking the time out of what was certainly a very hectic schedule to speak with me.

James is really cool like that. There was one day where I was being a whiny little twit on the boards. Essentially I was being a bit oversensitive and what I was reacting to actually had nothing to do with him. I was being stupid and tried to "call him out". But he took the time to be patient and cool with me.
I will never forget how awesome James was at that moment and it was then I re-evaluated what was going on in my head. I sure as heck had no beef with him, he just got the brunt of the frustration I had with myself. This started the process which made me realize that Paizo really understood my playstyle and that I was spinning my wheels with 4e.
So yeah, I understand and agree. Thank you James for taking the time to be attentive to fans and to show some restraint when people like me go all crazy.

Hey there, Drawdy!
Yup, I remember talking to ya (despite the fact that by Sunday I was pretty overwhelmed and boggled by the previous several days); good to hear that you're checking out Pathfinder, and I hope it ends up being something you like!
(And just as a special sneak-preview... we'll be having some more hydra-related mayhem in Pathfinder #22!)

No prob, alleynbard! It's easy to get worked up and excited about the game—I know I do now and then (particularly about silly things like dinosaurs and demons and other stuff that starts with D), but in the end it's all about the fun of the game. WHATEVER game that might be.
Also, anyone who uses "BARD" as part of their avatar name has to be a good person, right? Cause bards are the BEST! :-)

Why yes....bards are, in fact, the best. And noticably absent from the latest edition of the "World's Most Popular Roleplaying Game". ;)
Thanks again. I thought it would be good for you to know that conversation was a turning point for me. It made me realize I was pounding a round peg into a square hole, at least as it applies to me. It was what finally brought me to the PFRPG.
It is my sincere hope that everyone finds fun with the games they enjoy, not matter what edition number it might hold. For my part, my path is pretty clear, I plan to stick with Paizo. PFRPG allows me to utilize my collection of 3e material and continues to provide support for the edition I prefer.
