Paizo Seminars at Gen Con

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Sovereign Court

Any chance of an overview of what was discussed at the various Paizo Seminars being posted? I'm sure a lot of us would like to see what was talked about! :)

we were talking before about having someone record it and post it as an MP3... not sure if that happened though

Liberty's Edge

I recorded the Pathfinder Preview Seminar.
I have to find a place to get it hosted.
And if I find the time I wanna try to clean it up, though cleaning it up is not a big immediate priority.

Liberty's Edge

OK this might work.
You will have to click on the link on the next page and download the file.
If anyone wants to repost a simpler link to make this happen, or even host it elsewhere and post a link I'm cool with it.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Preview Seminar 2008.

Let me know if this worked.

Dark Archive

It cuts off at 4 minutes.

My audio cut out for the first few minutes then it seems OK. I am only 7:15 in but it is good. The audio quality is very good for a seminar. Good work graywulfe!

same here, went about 4 minutes, had a weird noise, and went out for 20 seconds or so, then went back on - all in all great and very informative... my hate for drow looks like it will be offset by

Seconded.

I have listened to 50 minutes and aside from the occasional cell phone "durka durka noise" a couple times the audio is stellar.

Liberty's Edge

Just finished listening - thanks so much for putting that up! Very awesome.

Sovereign Court

Works fine for me. Good quality too, though I am using the VLC software, which plays anything known to man, and tends to work through errors rather then just stop.

Anyway, thanks for uploading! Lots of informative stuff in there.

Genies, flesh-warping, Pathfinder fiction....YAY!

Liberty's Edge

I only wish I hadn't been late to the other seminar I went to 'Sticking with 3.5 ...'
My session of Silent Tide ran right to the last minute. Oh well.

And for the record, the suggestion of setting PF fiction in the past to avoid ruining the timeline of the world was MINE.

Spoiler:
Just so everyone knows.

Spoiler:
Go Osirion!

I asked Paizo for this before GenCon and didn't get a response. :( Thanks for filling us unwashed GenConless masses in on the good stuff.

This link does not work for me. Does anyone have notes or highlights to post?

Also did anyone attend the "Writing for Paizo" Seminar? I'd be interested to see any information from that seminar as well.

Sovereign Court Contributor

I arrived late to the Writing for Pathfinder seminar (sorry to whoever's foot I stepped on trying to get to my chair).

The short version is that Paizo wants to open up more writing opportunities to freelancers, but it is a slow process.

There will be more module open calls and RPG superstar type stuff.

The new "Set piece" encounters will be opened up to a limited open call of established (not necessarily through Paizo) freelancers for AP 4 and to the public at large for AP 5.

In general, if you want to write for Paizo, get to know Paizo, participate in this community, go to cons when you can and try and get published by other companies to establish your credentials. Kobold Quarterly is a good place to start.

That's what I recall off the top of my head.

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2011 Top 32

To segue from Craig's comment about Kobold, Kobold Quarterly is looking for more articles, particularly player oriented ones (Wolfgang mentioned that he was packed with GM oriented articles) with a bit more crunch than what he's been getting.

Ummm... any, uh, off-color or insulting comments, those are James doing his impression of me. He's sneaky like that.

Open calls for Pathfinder's set-piece adventures should be starting around December or maybe January. Beyond that... we don't know quite yet.

Did anyone record the "Sticking with 3.5" one? Or transcribe it? Or, you know, can just give me a summary? Thanks!
