These two movies are coming out early next year. Some actor highlights:
Harold from Harold and Kumar plays Sulu
Shaun from Shaun of the Dead plays Scotty
Christian Bale (aka Batman) plays John Connor
Hilarious casting. Oh, the jokes that will ring forth upon their arrival!
I saw the actor that played Harold do a guest spot on Grey's Anatomy (GF at the time made me watch the show). He was quite good. He played a doctor that accidently fell asleep at the wheel and killed a pregnant woman. The character was riddled with guilt and tried to apologize to the family. I'm sure he and Shaun can play serious rolls with a plom.
However I do look forward to the blooper/gag reel on the DVD.

That's actually about as solid as they can go for a franchise relauch in Star trek. The casting has me more excited for this one than i can remember being for trek film.
As for Bale, he seems to have done ok with batman. I'm sure that he'll do fine in the first non-Arnold Terminator film.
I'm sure he and Shaun can play serious rolls with a plom.
I'm picturing two stern-looking pieces of bread next to a British-looking plum. ;) (did you mean 'aplomb'?)
As for Christian Bale, I guess the joke's on me because when his involvement with the Terminator movies was first announced I automatically assumed he was playing the terminator, not the human hero. :D

Do take time to hit up the EW article. They have a really nice ensemble(-) shot (the (-) = not everyone is in the picture).
The Number 1 thought running through my mind? "Wow, Spock looks REALLY young!" Not a problem, just an observation.
Star Trek is an all new cast playing a much younger crew when they first meet up. Kirk will be on both ships, the Farragut and then the Enterprise. I think they meet up near the Romulan Neutral Zone, when Kirk's ship he is on is attacked.
Thanks TigerDave for the link. I'd have to agree that Spock does look crazy young. I'm really looking forward to both of these movies. I mean a new cast of one of my favorite T.V. series and a Terminator movie set in the future (been waiting for this one for a long while).!! Who can say they are not exicited?
You know one of those pics made me wonder if "Spock" isn't mixing up his series... but then who deosn't want to strangle Kirk at some point?
Didn't recognise Karl Urban, that new haircut does make him look more like McCoy, thats if this McCoy wasn't capable of dropkicking any foe into the critical ward let alone the thought a foe would have knowing the guy they just annoyed is head of the sick bay where they're recovering...
