Sorcerer Abilities in melee combat

Combat & Magic

If a Sorcerer uses an ability, for example "Heavenly Fire" in melee combat is it considered a spell, so they have to make a concentration check if they want to cast defensively? so as not to provoke an attack of opportunity.

Thanks

Supernatural Abilities

Supernatural abilities may have a use limit or be usable at will, just like spell-like abilities. However, supernatural abilities do not provoke attacks of opportunity and never require Concentration checks.

Does that answer your question?

spot on.

thank you.
