Any plans on providing an update for either Alpha 3.0 or the Beta, for the optional class features offered in the Gazetteer?
Most of them should work just fine in the new rules. For those that don't, like the cleric one, you'll probably need to turn to your fellow messageboard patron.
Why?
The ongoing separation of RPG and campaign setting.
And when that separation ends, will there be an official update?
Like a lot of people, I would hate to do all kinds of modifications, only to have Paizo's ruling not agree with mine.

Yes. When that separation ends, there will be an update. We're over a year away from that now, so I wouldn't worry too much about it yet...
And the possibility that board members upgrades be used?

I think one of us is confused. It's possible I answered a question other than the one you were asking. :D
The separation between stuff we make specifically for Golarion and stuff we make for the generic PFRPG won't end. We will eventually (say around August, 2009) begin creating Golarion-specific mechanics that are compliant with the PFRPG that might not fit in perfectly with 3.5. Better would be stuff usable in both systems, of course, which most of the variant features presented in the Gazetteer achieve. For the one that sticks out in my mind as not being forward compatible with PFRPG (i.e., the cleric one) we're presenting something else in the PCCS hardcover.
If you're instead thinking that we might release a lot of the stuff we created for Golarion into the PFRPG "SRD," I think that is not going to happen. But who knows what the future might bring? :)
