Alpha Release 3 General Discussion

Pathfinder is a great opportunity to continue to play with 3.5 rules.
But i think about comaptibility.

Could you publish advice to convert characters from 3.5 to Pathfinder ?

I think about poor GM
with iconic NPC : Drow, Tieffelin, Centaur, ... and the races conversion (drow and elfe : what power from elfe avaible for drow )
with non-ogl Domain (Forgotten ones ... )
with non-ogl Feat (regional feat, heritage feat(sorcerer)... )

If Pathfinder will replace the 3.5 rules, it will be very usefool !

Another idea : create a new drs-rules for few language (english, french, spanish, italian, german), such as http://www.d20srd.org/ or http://www.regles-donjons-dragons.com/ (french's one)

I'm not sure what you are asking here. I'm running a Realms campaign right now, and it doesn't take any more conversion than a normal 3.5 to Pathfinder campaign. When it comes to subraces, I'll convert those as needed or use them as is.

For example, we had a goliath in our campaign, and his abilities worked the way the did under 3.5 and everything worked just fine.

I don't see an issue with using setting i am using eberron no harder then anything else.

I am running my playtests in the Realms, and the main conversion issue so far has been deciding what domains the gods should get.

I think that any conversion of Realms regional feats or spells would need to be fan-created, to keep a lower legal profile.

Right, but I didn't want to start working on anything like that until the final rules came out. Our cleric of Lathander had renewal as a domain, and switched it to healing, so that we could actually test the system. When everything is final, I may rework that domain, but right now its not a big deal.

Assuming backwards capatablity turns out to be easy (or they are conversion notes in the back of the final product) then any setting should in theory be only as hard or as easy one choses.

IK would need work because while magic is still powerful, Clerics and Sorc. are very rare.

While Midnight needs almost no conversion as the setting so differs from standard that the classes work as unique types.

Race is another matter depending on the hit die issue, but if a race gets automatic hit points/dice then one simple solution would be to reduce racial levels by one.
