A few people seem to feel that the new Turning/Channel rules need a little tweak. I had this brainstorm after reading Roman's Playtest thread (credit to Roman for some ideas):
The Cleric slowly learns how to control his Channeling, gaining new uses as he gains in power. All rules and abilities regarding attacks apply to the Channel as appropriate. The result of a Channel attempt remains the same as in Pathfinder Alpha 2:
Channel Touch
Cleric Level 1st
The Cleric channels the divine power into himself and is able to release the energy as a touch. The Cleric can touch a creature as part of his Channel action, or he may hold the charge for a number of rounds equal to twice his Cleric level, and may deliver a number of touches equal to his Cleric level. The Cleric may also ready an action to release a charge if he is touched by another creature. In this case, no attack roll is necessary. The Cleric may expend a charge to heal himself.
Channel Ray
Cleric Level 5th
The Cleric retains the ability to use Channel Touch but can also choose to produce a ray, which expends one charge of his Channel power.
Channel Burst
Cleric Level 10th
The Cleric can now expend all his charges from a single Channel attempt into a burst. The Cleric may only use the burst if no charges have been expended from his Channel attempt (but the Cleric may hold the charges until released). Releasing a burst is a swift action, and functions in a 30ft radius. At 15th level the radius increases to 60ft.
Channel Conduit
Cleric Level 20th
The Cleric is now a conduit for divine energy. Undead cannot come within 10ft of the Cleric unless they succeed on a will save DC 10 + cleric level.
Alternatively, someone could rework these to be a choice at first level. I don't know, somethine about a Cleric blasting undead with a ray from his holy symbol is pretty awesome to me.
