I would like to give some simple and easy add-on to the Fighter class. I´d like to make it clear that it´s in ADITTION to the Pathfinder Fighter class abilities.
Skills:
- Diplomacy (For the Leader, Commander, Champion type)
- Perception (For the Leader, Commander, Champion type)
- Sense Motivation (To check enemy´s threat through Assess Oponent check from Complete Adventurer where you can learn if the enemy is dangerous or not)
Class Abilities:
- Iron Will: At lvl 12, 14, 16 and 18, the Fighter gets +2 bonuses to his Will resistance. At lvl 20 he gets immunity to mind-affecting and compulsion spells and spell-like abilities.
- Bypass hardness: At lvl 13 and 17, the Fighter can choose one type fo hardness (adamantine, cold iron, silver, etc...) and treat ONE weapon (not one type of weapon or weapon group, just one weapon of his choice) as having such characteristic. So, a cold iron longsword +3 that the Fighter has, could be considered for the effects of bypassing reduction (and only that!) as also an adamantine and silver weapon.
----------------------
I know that these are simple changes and that´s the idea: keep the Fighter simple but give him something more (not stances, or maneuvers, or anything bizarre).
What are your thoughts?

I wouldn´t lie, but I really thought on suggesting that the Rion Will ability would be realted to the Fighter charisma bonuses. Something like, at, lvl 18, if a Fighter had +4 charisma bonuses, he could use it as bonuses to his Will (similiar to a Paladin, but only on his will and to a maximum of +4).
It would make Charisma a necessary ability to a Fighter and not a dump stat anymore. But I was afraid that the forum´s powergamers would be upset.

Ok, it seems that you're very fixated on the Leader/Commander concept for the fighter class.
A more simple rule regarding class skills would be to give the fighter any two skills as extra class skills (removing maybe perception from the fighter class skill list), after all the Fighter is the base class that covers the widest set of character concepts. This makes sense with the design of the fighter class, after all the fighter class is all about making the character yourself. Imagine a player who wants to play a more nimble fighter, he could find great use in the acrobatics skill.
About the bonus on Will saves, again it's not the idea with the Fighter class to give bonuses just to fit one concept, it is a way better idea to make this bonus eligible for any of the three saving throws, this way a player can choose to have an uber Fortitude Save, a decent reflex save or a slightly better will save, I implemented this in my campaign as a house rule (+1 bonus to one saving throw at 5th fighter level, +2 at 11th and +3 at 17th) and it's working ok, although I don't play yet with the Pathfinder rules... I am still trying to find out if they are not too overpowered.
Although I DO concur that the Fighter class is lacking defenses, I like the armor training feature, but save bonuses are precisely one of the most important form of defense in the game, anyway I wouldn't make Charisma one of the key abilities just because it fits one concept, imagine a soldier character, why would he need a high charisma score?
The feature to pierce through damage reduction seems to be ok, but I would definitely make it a feat... maybe with Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization as prerequisites.
