Question- does the dwarven stonecunning racial ability allow them to spot traps or doors with a DC above 20 or that are magical?
It states they automatically get a roll within 10 ft.
Under a Rogue's trapfinding ability it states that only rogues can find traps with a DC over 20 or that are magical.
Trapfinding says nothing about doors, only traps. There's no *mechanics* reason why stonecunning or keen senses doesn't apply to magic doors.
And, on a munchkin mechanics note:
Only a Rogue may us *Perception* to locate a magical trap with a DC higher than 20.
This may be merely a loophole, but it doesn't say anything about using other methods to detect magical traps.

So a pit trap made out of stone with a magical trigger and lets say a DC of 35 often has a better chance of being found by a dwarf of any class rather than a Rogue simply because the Dwarf will always get a roll granted by the DM and the Rogue player has to actively check.
I can see this being used in a metagaming way.
"oh the dwarf got a roll to find something from the DM? I better check for traps." - That sorta thing.
Of course now I'm just being nitpicky....

I'd say the dwarf would notice something was out of place fairly easily, but not necessarily the intricacies of the trap itself. He might not even know what the trap does, only that the structure of the stone is out of whack with a normal wall, etc.
Remember, finding out that something isn't right is a small part of the situation. Imagine a party that can figure out that something is wrong, but being unable to fix it. Oooh... the drama.
I'm picturing an entire party taking a deep breath and running at full speed down a hallway, hoping that by the time the trap goes off, they're out of range.
You don't have to outrun the trap, just the dwarf...
