Supernatural abilities can be turned on and off as a standard action by 3.5 rules but the bloodlines don't seem to be written clear enough to me.
For example, Celestial's Ascension... "You can call upon the power of the heavens" while likely flavor text.. could ALSO be mechanical text. Is Ascension something you can turn on/off or is it always on? I realize there's no duration text, but the flavor text implies it's something you turn on.
Arcane Apotheosis (for Arcane) is much more clear. You can on/off it since it involves metamagic and item charges. The "body surges with arcane power" is clearly flavor text that can be used as a fluffy visual when a sorcerer uses the power.
But wait.. it gets better...
Go to One of Us (for Undead) and "you form begins to rot and undead begin to see you as one of them." The seems like an always on ability and unlike the others, it's an Extraordinary ability.
This goes pretty much straight across all the bloodlines. The bloodlines have text that could be mechanical text OR flavor text OR both.
