I condensed 3 chapters of Mystic Eye Games' Artificer's Handbook (I was the lead author) into a 10 page PDF.

I welcome any feedback.

The Exchange

A few issues:

1. Permanent Magic vs "charged" Magic

Permanent Magic items should require a Wish (AKA Wished Permanent) Spell for every spell used regardless of level. That means that any Craft Wonderous Item activity (amongst others) taking place at third level Wizard, Druid, Cleric, Sorcerer are not producing permanent items. While I like the ability of a Third level Druid having the ability to craft a selfheating bathwater tub, I think Permanent is undermining the original game tennant that power came with very great experience.

2. Huge Magic

Using a combination of the D&D Mystaran Rules and the D&D 3.0 Techniques, A flying SHip takes 2.5 million gp and almost 100 years to enchant - effectivly making it a unique item crafted by a 20th level wizard.

3. Artefacts

Effectivly the quest of anyone becomming a Demigod requiring a part of the would be God's soul, This alone should require the sacrifice of Experience that cannot be recovered (A 20th level Wizard becomming a Demigod and crafting an Artefact is permanently reduced in levels if the experience drain requires it).

The Exchange

Mountain Seed
It is unknown if these are even being worked on by the Eternal Matriarchy. Because they would take over sixty-three million years to create, the purpose of the Mountain -seed is unknown and some consider such an artefact if it even exists to be a ceremonial artefact, as such it is uncertain if such an artefact even exists. When it is thrown, the mountain-seed would expand to three miles high, one mile in radius, and weigh over 34.7 billion ton.

A Mountain-Seed in the Campaign
If a Hill Seed is powerful and destructive then it is dwarfed by the power of a Mountain Seed. Why the Eternal Matriarchy would even want to waste the resources and wealth on the construction of something that could only crush a city is beyond most powerful wizards. It requires the exclusive attention of a C0ven Priestess for seven years before it is passed to the next Priestess. Considering it is going to take over sixty-three million years, and require more wealth than it would cost to buy a World it may well be a ceremonial artefact although what ceremony it would be used for (and when it would happen) is unknown.
