What happens when we get all the skills that we can get?

Skills & Feats

Just wondering. People are going to get every skill in the game at some point.

how so? an int 20 rogue gets 23 feats at 20th ok 24 if human an fighter sam int gets 17 . there are 36 skills so even an int 20 rogue still has 12 left he would need to be 42nd level to get em all.a fighter would need to be 58th level! how many games does that happen . and is him having em all at that level an issue I mean come on really

MAN that fighter can do every skill! "58th level baby! BOOYAH!!"

That's because the Alpha System AS IS RIGHT NOW is just no good.

I'm still voting for keeping a simplified skill point system.
Reasons:

1) Backward Compatibility
2) Easy to use (getting a set number of skill points is easier then the other (hybrid) systems would handle this)
3) Enough customization possibilities

Take a look at my proposal here.

The alpha skills are fine backward compatibility is not an issue. and at 58th level fighter with a 20 int. how many skills he has is the lest of your issues.

It's not because of the extra MAXED OUT Skills every other level!

sure it is . 90% of all npc's have 1 maxed out stat. eyeball it .level 15 rogue thats +18.if ya dont know what ability just leave it at +18 most dm's know them so its really easy. I have done it since it came out simple easy and never an issue.

If there important NPC's add skills if not not an issue dont give em any.

NOT THE POINT. At some point, characters will have all the skills they can get. What happens then? I'd rule that they get a +5 bonus to one skill of their choice with every skill they would normally gain (or somesuch).

my self you always have cross skills man you never get all you can till you get way epic. but I see your point what i plan on doing is allowing a pc to put another point in a skill for an extra +3 .But sad fact is the alpha skills are prob gonna die the ones that hate it for lack of points are just to loud and it'll die .Sad with a little work they could be way better then skill points and gods know for a dm there just great.

you can not run out of skills without being ungoddly levels . almost every class has to cross skill really heavy anyhow.

I would allow players to put extra training into an old skill if they wished. +3 to the skill. to make it clear

1 skill choice +3
2 skill choices+6
3 skill choices+9
and so on. would limit max rank somehow though.

just my thoughts on pathfinder sticking with skill points have seen no system that me or my players like as well as the pathfinder set up and would like to see it worked on rather then rehashing skill points.

Not possible. There are nigh unlimited amounts of Perform, Profession and Craft skills you can get.
