After looking through all of the races I noticed that pretty much all of them have an addition +2 to some ability score or other that wasn't there in 3.5. Though technically they are still balanced with each other, that puts them just one further step above the challenges they may go up against. PCs are supposed to be "special" by their very nature, and a campaign CAN be engineered to take these additional bonuses into account. I'm just curious why these extra ability score adjustments are included? I've never been a power gamer, and I've always prefered role-plaing to hack and slash, though of course a good slaughter every now and then adds a bit of flavor. I guess my point is, I don't see the need for additional ability score adjustments on top of what is already presented in the 3.5 rules, especially since the exact same races are being provided.
Also, I could be wrong, but doesn't the OGL say that you basically have to refer back to the basic rules written by Wizards of the Coast? Including using the exact same races only slightly modified but with the same name? As I said, I could be misinterpreting but that is how I understood it.
