Why do clerics choose two domains? I know it is standard in 3.5, but it seems like such an arbitrary number. Seems more appropriate to base it on Wisdom modifier or something.
To me, it just seems thats the way it's been, so thats it way it will be. Personally though, I think it might be best to alter the number of domains. Given that, piazo clerics gain further domain powers with levels, could it provide some balance if they had only a single domain? It would mean making custom gods for a setting wouldn't be a nightmare. Usally I find that its troublesome to try to allocate multiple domains to several gods, trying to make sure that all the domains are there, theres wide variety, but the ability to get some silly combinations isn't. Having access to only one domain may solve this.
