Two ideas I've toyed with, just wondering if they have a place in Pathfinder.
I've seen BDB discussed before, even here at Paizo I think. Mostly classes seem to get lumped into three progressions - the dodgey, the average, and the slow - that mirror BAB progressions.
As far as adding BAB to damage, it seems like, as you become a more experienced combatant, you would get better at inflicting damage as well as more likely to hit. It might help balance out all those new hit points folks are going to have, especially at higher levels.
More than anything, I'm trying field ideas that build on existing systems rather than create new ones.

I use base defense and damage bonuses equal to 1/2 BAB. Both are insight bonuses. The defense bonus applies to AC, touch and flatfoot. It stacks with armour but only up to the same amount as your dexterity modifier would. This way high level fighters get to choose whether they want armour or not. Both bonuses are designed to reduce the high-level dependency on magic items. Note that this applies to all classes. My group consists of 6th level players, so time will tell how this works out.
