Have we gotten an official Harrow Deck reading from Paizo? They did one for 4th edition, IIRC, and I'd like to see one for PRPG!
I can't let Vic have all the fun, so here goes. The question is, "Is it wise for Paizo to publish its own RPG based on the 3.5 rules?"
For the Choosing, I pick the suit of Wisdom. From the nine Wisdom cards, I draw the Publican. Awesome. The Publican is about creating a place for camaraderie, where all can come for safe refuge. That's a very good sign.
For the Spread, I get these cards:
(LG) The Joke / (NG) The Idiot / (CG) The Big Sky
(LN) The Tyrant / (N) The Dance / (CN) The Hidden Truth
(LE) The Rakshasa / (NE) The Marriage / (CE) The Keep
Yow! I did not want to see a true match in that corner of the Past column! The Lawful Evil Rakshasa seems a bit worrisome. OK, let me check the divination book. "Dominance...an exterior force...mental enslavement to a force or idea." Huh. Well, 4E is likely to be a powerful exterior force. I'm reading this as an uphill battle. Let's see what happens from hereon in.
In the Present column, I've got an opposite match for The Idiot. This makes me smile. Misaligned, The Idiot is about feigning idiocy when it turns out you're really smart. There are definitely people out there who think Paizo's making a bad call. But this card says we know something they don't.
In the Future column, I've got The Big Sky as a true match. Breaking the chains, shackles cast off, powerful positive change. All very good stuff. I like that quite a bit.
So to sum up: place of camaraderie and refuge, powerful exterior force, being underestimated, casting off shackles for freedom. That sounds like a good reading to me. Let's see if anyone else wants to run a reading on this.

Note that it is the past column - that implies that Paizo was previously "enslaved" or "dominated," but is perhaps no longer. Could this represent the state of affairs prior to the announcement of the PRPG and Paizo's decision to cut itself loose from WotC's business model?

Granted this is all in good fun, but I wouldn't think of our past licensing agreement as being "enslaved" to anything. That's a rather large amount of hyperbole to describe our previous license with WotC. :-)
My reading of the past column is that Paizo was once ruled by a tyrannical, lion-headed humanoid that none of us took seriously. Could it be? Were we ruled by Liono?

Darn it, my plans for the Thunder Cats Role-Playing Game, based on the 3.5 rules, are now shot. And I had such hopes.
