I love the idea of the broken condition (although I'd call it the damaged condition, because the object isn't fully broken yet).
One thing overlooked here, what happens if our hearty adventurers damage a door or a chest? This is something likely occurs in adventures.
Should a 'broken' door or chest be bypassable?
