Let me say first that I am very excited about Paizo's plans to break away from the corporate Teet whose name we must not mention. I've only made a cursory examination of the Alpha version - some things look interesting, some things make me wary.
I understand that Paizo isn't looking at just throwing in house rules and working solely to simplify the game, but rather to make what I depict as a 3.75 (or perhaps a 3.55). In any event, some of the more significant changes (like with spells) leaves me wary, especially given my current inventory of spells.
That said, I like how Paizo is trying to build on the classes. No dead levels. And condensing skills? Awesome.
Still, I must admit that Paizo is also competing with my much less refined set of House Rules that are intended PRIMARILY to just speed up game play. Perhaps some of my house rules will raise Paizo's interest (or yours). Perhaps not. But what's the harm of sharing, I ask. So, to anyone interested, INCLUDING PAIZO, please see whether anything contained within picques your fancy: Lost in Translation.
And again, thank you Paizo for taking on your own direction. My fingers are crossed for your success.
