Converting X Adventure to Pathfinder?!

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Grand Lodge

This may seem a bit premature since the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer isn't due till March. Still, I have seen many people talk about converting Savage Tide to the Realms, Age of Worms to Eberron, and the like but what I would like to see is conversions for those adventures into the World of Golarion!

I would love to see likewise conversions for Modules such as the Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk, Expedition to Castle Ravenloft and the like into Pathfinder. Such conversions would likely fall into the realms of the Fans but even a brief commentary from Paizo on suggested locations of said campaigns would be really useful.

Actually, it works best right now: There is very little information available about Golarion, so right now you can do what you like without contradicting anybody.

You just have to replace the name of some places (or not - who says that there isn't a Castle Greyhawk somewhere on your Golarion, or a nation called Cormyr) and the deities involved.

Placing Shackled City, Age of Worms and Savage Tide in Golarion
(All of these suggestions are from Erik. Thanks, Erik!)
Shackled City
Shackled City is probably best situated in southwest Garund, in the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse. This would give the setting a slightly more African feel than South American (the 'South America' of Golarion is almost entirely undeveloped), but that might be to its credit.

Age of Worms
Age of Worms might work with Falcon's Hollow standing in for Diamond Lake, or perhaps better making Diamond Lake a city in Andoran, the nation in which Falcon's Hollow is situated. Alternatively, I might consider putting Diamond Lake in the Chelaxian heartlands, near the new capital of Egorian, seat of the diabolical House of Thrune. It's not unusual for a small town to not be tainted by the diabolism popular in the cities, and there is an area in a nearby forest roughly analagous to the Cairn Hills. Moving down to one of the coastal cities would make a lot of sense for Alhaster.

Savage Tide
Savage Tide picks up, then, on Shackled City's placement in Garund (specifically probably an old colony of Cheliax called Sargava) and takes a journey to the Isle of Dread in the middle of nowhere to end in the pirate isles called The Shackles.

Djoc comments, "Erik, after all those names you throw, we just need the Gaz to understand everything you said :D"
James Jacobs: "I approve of any plan that has the Isle of Dread imported whole-cloth into Golarion, of course."

Presumably, these locales will be revealed in the Gazetteer. As for any others, I'm curious to know what the Paizo folks come up with.

Thats Lilith for pointing this out to me! Theres just so much information about Pathfinder on this sight its hard to keep up with it all!

Anyone know of a good fan site that is trying to pool the information together?

From what I've seen of the boards, that's pretty much Lilith's full-time job... in addition to her commission work, working as an art director, a WereCabbage (shouldn't that be Brassicanthrope?), and everything else.

She does a fine job too.. but I'd still love to see a Pathfinder GM Resource Center for artwork, maps, diaries and Journals, calenders.. and the million and one other things that this community has made to supplement the AP.

They've enriched my game, and I definitely think they make the product line stronger yet.

It is on the list of things to work on this year. Of course, it was on the list last year too. :)

It will happen faster if we can ever find somebody to fill Gary's open programmer position.

If it weren't for the pesky little ocean! I don't want to swim to work and back every day.

If it is still open in about two years, I will send you a resume. ;)

I know a fellow who has his BS in computer science, and is working at a milk plant. Has been for the last five years. He's a sharp fellow, but lacks the confidence and motivation to get a job in his field. Not a gamer, but loves programming and computers... wish I could convince him to apply for this.

If I was 1) in the Seattle area and 2) not planning on staying in the military until 2016 (to get the retirement benefits for 20 years of service), I'd probably send in a resume. Not that I'd be likely to get the job, since my experience is in network/server administration instead of programming...
