Tried to be a little too clever there!
Since I couldn't see one of these I'd thought I'd create one and see the reaction!
By the way those that did see it what did you think of last nights episode?
Introducing Captain John Hart and reintroducing Captain Jack Harkness!
Also the mention about the time agency, how many operatives left and someone important to Captain Jack!
Better stop there before I really mess things up!

I can say it was a cracking episode and the scene in the bar was hilarious and even though they did do a lot of sex orientation it was still very good and the blowfish had some good scenes...
However there wasn't a confidential episode after it which was a shame but as it was followed by a programme regarding Norman Wisdom maybe it wasn't such a bad thing...
I WISH!

It seems like Torchwood has found its feet as a series in its own right, it struggled before and didn't quite seem to know if it was serious, edgy, 'X-filesy' or buffy-like etc
But now its cracking! Its very tongue in cheek, a splash of high camp and exploring the naughy side of the DW-verse. I found it very 'Buffy-ish' and sounds like the writers have taken note of all the things people made fun of it for in the first place. Dead Ringers sketch anyone? ;)
I liked it a lot, brill!
Captain Jacks 'big stage ham' was a lot more palatable and he was even slightly more likable! Dont know what to make of the fact they photocopied Spike and placed him into the series, lol! Lets hope they clone Willow as well. ;)

James Masters' character did play out a bit too much like Spike.
Also too much Male on Male action for my liking, and no Woman on woman... go figure....
The episode was considerable better for its pacing. I hated previous episodes where they had thirty seconds to wrap everything up.
Acting still feels a bit clunky and storyline could have been better, but definately an improvement on the first series.

Overall, while it was good to see the programme return, I thought it a filler episode just to introduce James Marsters’ character. I think the bar fight was unnecessary and went on too long (like the pointless fist fight in Die hard). Still, there was more humour; best line was the “Help me Obi-Wan…”.
It was strange seeing James with dark hair and an American accent.

… I always preferred Cordelia.

Last night's opening episode for season 2 seemed to me to be better written (especially with regard to the humour aspect) than many of the episodes in the previous series. The Dead Ringers sketch R-Type referred to (Dead Ringers is a British satirical show performed by impressionists for those out there without access to it) nailed many of the aspects of Torchwood that I felt detracted from season 1. Hopefully the Torchwood writers have duly noted this, and will produce a consistently higher quality product for the whole of season 2.

The BBC America showings will be edited for content and time.I'm waiting for February 11, when high-definition, unedited episodes of season 2 begin on HDNet.
My wife and I certainly found that to be true when we re-watched Season One on DVD, as compared to on BBC America.
I'm afraid we're stuck with BBC America until we get some more money rolling in the household though.

I'm finding Torchwood to be a pain in the arse. I want to like it and at times it seems ok (enjoyable even) but on the whole it is very stumbling and has yet to find itself.
Is it funny, quirky left field and camp 'Brit-uffy' with a vague Dr Who spin, or is it serious and aiming to be like X-files, Ultraviolet or something?
Is it just its own thing and therefore allowed to flail about just the way it is and not to be taken so seriously by people like me?
Originally they said it was going to be 'Adult-Who' and a chance to explore the darker side of the Whovniverse. I thought it would be all clever and tell stories you couldn't really tell at tea time on a Saturday afternoon -only its just a third rate mooch cobbled together with a smidgen of Dr Who lore/snippets and cast offs made 'adult' because it has the odd fumbling sexy scene, or misplaced swear word among the bad cgi and monster of the week villains.
I don't really like or trust any of characters and they don't make much sense either?
Ianto had a cyber-girl friend in the basement.
Wholesome lovely Gwen cheated on her partner with frog-mouthed Owen.
Owen is/was a creepy sexual predator -I bet he has ALWAYS smelt like embalming fluid!
Tosh -barely a human being -I've had turds with more substance.
Captain Ham makes me want to throw up.
Is it just me or are the supporting characters much more interesting and charismatic?
Rease seems like a nice bloke. A kinda Samwise type.
Spike from Buffy/Captain John? was great! The Captain Jacks character could only ever hope to be as intriguing, sexy, witty, well-dressed and kick ass.
Martha Jones -interesting and capable.
