Ive just read this message that came to my e mail:
"...Paizo Order #863397 is expected to ship from the Paizo warehouse by Wednesday, January 23..."
Why will it take so long to leave the warehouse? Since my orders usually take over a month to get here, I'd like to know why this time Im going to wait a lot more for my beloved Pathfinder.
and, while in here, could you take a look at order #837654 wich haven't arrived yet?
Thanks Ney.

In order to strike a balance between getting people their Pathfinder PDFs as quickly as possible and getting the physical books out the door as quickly as possible, we "ship" Pathfinders (which in this case means processing the order, printing the mailing label, charging the card and granting access to the PDF) in large groups of orders. We then put all of the mailing labels in these groups on Pathfinders and get them into the mail. We then "ship" another large group. Because of the size of these groups, it may be a day or two between when your Pathfinder "ships" (so you get the above quoted email, and access to the PDF) and when your Pathfinder book leaves our warehouse.
Therefore due to the inexactitude of these dates, we put an estimate of when the final Pathfinder of the entire run will leave the warehouse. But this is just an estimate.
For this volume the January 23rd date is not very accurate. It should have been more like January 15th, because a majority of the Pathfinder #5's have left the warehouse and are in the hands of their delivery service (either USPS or UPS). Furthermore, once you receive the confirmation email, your Pathfinder will nearly always be leaving the warehouse that day or the next.
We are currently developing code so that our production calendar will more accurately talk to the subscriptions, so that these dates will become more and more accurate in the coming months.
I hope this clears things up for you a bit. :)
Thanks,
cos

So should I be worried that I don't have my Pathfinder #5 pdf yet?
Me too Cosmo!
(weeps)
And I got that weird a$$ e-mail that said there was a problem with my order, which you said not to worry about.. Now no PF#5 PDF and I'm skeered!
I'll go to Feng Shui tonight, and I won't be able to get my Kung Fu on, for fear of no PF#5 PDF!

I asked about that yesterday, and it seems that in my case it had to do with the Pathfinder Chronicles Map Folio getting added to my order (I'm a chronicles sub), even though it wasn't available yet. Straightening that out has delayed the order. I'm optimistic that it will ship today or tomorrow...

Same here. I'm usually early in the queue. I've never had to wait before. :/

I don't know if this would cause more problems than it solves, but...
Would it be possible for the mailing groups to be defined on a list (e.g. U.S. Pathfinder + GameMastery, U.S. Pathfinder + Chronicles, etc.) and then a web page that shows where Paizo is on the list (as one group's PDFs are all available, next to that group on the list, it says "Have access to PDFs" and once theirs are all in the mail, it changes to e.g. "All have been mailed 1/15/08")?
On the up side, when we're wondering if we should contact customer service, we'd be able to get a better idea of if it's likely to be necessary, or if we just need to be more patient. On the minus side, it would be an extra task to coordinate with all the other tasks involved in shipping, and might be a lot more coding/trouble than it's worth.

Aha! I bet mine's slow because I ordered D0 and asked that it be held and shipped with my Pathfinder. That probably got me dropped into a different queue.

Me too!
I haven't hard any subscription problems at all until now.
No PDFs for Pathfinder 5 or GameMastery J5. I've received like 3 emails that are generic automated emails about the order.
My Map Folio got canceled, just like everyone else's but I still have nothing and didn't have this delay with any of my other subscriptions.

While I think this is a very logical way of doing things, I'm going to make a prediction that if Paizo did do this, the boards would light up with posts where people complained about how their group should be first and not last.
"Overseas orders should be first because they take longer to reach their destinations!"
"Pathfinder + Chronicles + Gamemastery should be first because they spend the most money!"
"Ship with Pathfinder orders should go first because they have items they've already been waiting on!"
So and so forth. It would never end and some bunch of people would always be unhappy.

EDIT: In the spirit of full disclosure, my order got goobered-up because of the map folio also, so I'm in the same bucket as several others: haven't gotten anything yet.

Skeld - Yeah, I see exactly what you mean. I withdraw the suggestion.
I'm in the map folio cancellation group, too. I'm glad there are discussions here about it, I'd just discovered it was cancelled and I didn't know what was going on.

I know everyone's excited about receiving PF#5 but please give us a few more days to get them all out. The map folio problem held back a bunch of orders and now that Gary has that fixed, we can finish shipping out #5's. We hope to have 99% of the #5's out by EOD Thursday.
cool i hope so because i'm getting withdrawl symptons :o)

Combined shipping + item that doesn't come out until next month + automated system = next month delivery. :)
Happened to me too and I ship with Pathfinder. The only option that would have avoided this was shipping everything separate. ;)

Yes, I do not have mine yet either. I decided to go with ship everything separate option in the future. I have been waiting for my J2 module for a couple of weeks and thought once PF5 came in I would get it all (before combining shipping my PF subscription came the first day - now a week later I do not have it. The only reason I combined it (to ship with PF and never to hold PF up) was that when I subscribed to new things my PF would not give me the option of 1 day shipping but kept defaulting to some 3-10 day shipping option.
So, now I have separated it all out again for any future items but am still waiting for my PDF for PF5. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi you are my only hope...
