Ah, I see. I watch little TV as well. I try and watch 1-2 shows a week, with Nip Tuck being one of them. Legion of Super-Heroes being the other on Sat. mornings. Other than than, I don't watch TV myself.
Nip Tuck is a television show which in on their 4th season (I think). It features 2 plastic surgeons who are the best of friends from college (now they are about 40). The three main characters are
Shawn (who married Julie, out of college, now has 3 children)
Christian (womanizer)
Julia (obviously married shawn)
In a nut shell.....the pair of plastic surgeons receive the most ridiculous and interesting cases you could evern imagine. Examples include:
Siamese twins who need to be seperated. Once has cancer the other doesn't. Once they are separated but before the surgery comes to an end, one dies....the other is on life support. The mother decides to have them rejoined so they can go to heaven as God created them.
A drug lord blackmails the surgeons into removing breast augmentations of girls he sends them. The silicon imlants are filled with drugs. Eventually their dealing with him come to a head and he is sent to prison. Eventually he gets out of prison to torment the surgeons some more, only to eventually be killed by his dominating wife.
A unknown assailant called the "carver" is invading the homes of pretty women and drugging them. He then uses a big knife to slice a grin from one cheek to the other, disfiguring the people. Eventually, he goes after the plastic surgeons for fixing these victims up. Turns out that the new guy they hired is the carver and that the detective woman investigating the crimes is the carver's sister who is in on the whole thing.
Other storylines of interests:
Shawn and Julia's oldest child is named Matt. After 17 years or so, we find out that Matt is actually Christians bilogical son, not Shawns.
Julia and Christian who are secretly in love with one another since college have an affair. Eventually Shawn and Julia get divorced. Julia now decides to explore her "other" side. Shawn hooks up with Julia's girlfriends daughter (who's 18).
etc. etc. etc.
Well written show but you have to like the nighttime soap thing to enjoy it. Graphic surgery scenes, nudity, offensive language. Lots of twisted plots which carry over from one show to the next.

::Looks for the Nip/Tuck thread::
Oh! Here it is!
I'd never really paid much attention to this show, mainly because I do not have cable, until a roommate bought the season four DVDs. Now, I'm hooked.
The thing that gets me about the show is the constant sense of humor that crops up in the most inappropriate situations. For example, the multiple jabs at Scientology after Matt takes up with Kimber. And the whole Rosie O'Donnell storyline was fantastic.
Unfortunately, that roommate moved out. So I'd like to get the entire series on DVD at some point, but this will be after I've completed my Venture Brothers, Boston Legal, and Rescue Me collection. It may be a while. : /

I'm a huge fan!!! I've seen every one since season 1. Interesting, trashy, over the top, plot twisting, sexy, violence, porn stars, doctors, serial killers, gang members, all rolled into one show.

I got seasons 1-2 on DVD so I going through those now. I have seen most of the episodes though on t.v. first. So what do you think about them moving out to LA so far?

You know I heard this show was amazing, but I never did manage to catch an episode- I think I'll go looking for it now.
Episodes are linked but the always have a "Previously on Nip Tuck recap at the beginning, and then show a few clips of stuff which will pertain to the current episode. I'd suggest watching 2-3 episodes in order to catch up a little bit. Overall, it wouldn't take long.

Well I wasn't too happy at the start, but it almost feels like they got back to basics. The later seasons get really out there with ogran stealing, family breaks, and deaths. It was getting to the point where it was almost a self destructing show. I think they kind of realized that and replanted the show. This has given it the ability to mock itself in a light funny way that doesn't take from the drama. The move also gave Shawn and Christian a chance to role-reversal some.
All in all now I'm happy about the show and the move. I feel like it has gotten a bit of a face-lift...haha I know. Also Julia isn't in ever episode which is a good thing. I'm so sick of her trying to find herself over and over. She always seemed to come of as a flat note to me.

I know what you mean so far as Julia is concerned. I never could figure out what Christian saw in her in the first place.
Do you recall the creepy guy who would sneak into the recoveries of hospitals and into Troy and McNamara and similiar places, pretend he is a doctor and well you know....I haven't seem him for awhile nor has the Dom come back....I was curious to see where they were leading up to with this individuals.
Oh, I recognize Oliva from Ally McBeal as well. I was kinda hoping the thing with Shawn and the actress (can't recall her name) would last longer, and as far as Eden goes...she's very naughty!

You know, the sum total of what I know about this show is that the guy that plays Doctor Doom is on it, and that he would, in theory, be a perfect Victor Von Doom, except that they keep giving him horrible lines and horrible plots that don't show off his "Doominess."
That's all I got.
Yea, regretfully, I thought the script for his lines in FF were weak. I haven't seen the 2nd film so I don't know if it was better for him.
He's fantastic on Nip Tuck, actually both actors are. One of them was in Congo several years ago. Great book, very poor movie. Wow, has his acting improved.

I don't think he'll be back to probe people. I think it was just one of those random things that happen.

I don't think he'll be back to probe people. I think it was just one of those random things that happen.Really, seems like sometimes they take a break from things then pull it out of the hat quite some time later. They also seem to drop Christian moonlighting as an escort as well. Maybe the one lady who almost died on him was to much. She was bizzare, the one who got in the tub full of ice....My mouth just dropped when she explained what she wanted to do! Wow, they sure got some great writers on that show. I hope it doesn't burn out prematurely. Seems like every show I start liking ends on the 5-6 season.
