Shadow Lodge

On the subject of characters, I have an idea for a Halfling Rogue/Monk, using the Halfling Racial substitutions for those classes (Found in Races of the Wild), along with the Ascetic Rogue feat from Complete Adventurer. The concept is that he comes from a family troupe of acrobats (that's why he's very mobile). At the moment, I'm not sure if I should take a level of Monk first, or a level of Rogue. Either way, second level will be taken in the alternate class, I should think. At third level, I would take the Ascetic Rogue feat, allowing me to continue multiclassing between Rogue and Monk.

Does that sound alright to you?

EDIT: Here's a slightly more detailed concept.
Name: Saeed Al'Kurush.
Concept: Saeed's family are a troupe of halfling entertainers, they sail from port to port, holding performances on their ship, the decadent Spray Dancer. They hold nightly performances for several days in each port, including a final performance, totally free (For the poor masses). They bribe the Wharfmasters in every port, as they also have a habit of appropriating and smuggling goods from place to pace for a tidy profit - everything from food to silks to gold to people, most of the common good of the isles have been secretly ferried aboard the Dancer at one time or another.

How's that?

The Exchange

PsionicFox - that is just what I wanted to hear. You are in. I'll save any further thoughts for the Discussion thread.

OK - that makes five.

I feel like Steve McQueen in the Magnificent Seven.

How about One more? What the hell let's see if we can get six.

If you are seriously interested then let me know.

Cheers and thanks PsionicFox.

A lot of peeps have posted about looking for games, but they don't seem to sign up. You've been rounding up players for a month now?

Already in play, right?

The Exchange

Yep. Four good players, One just joining and looking for another. I'm in this for the long haul so I don't mind putting the effort in to get a good crew.

Ironically I have just replied to one of your messages on the discussion thread- about battle speed.

You are right there are a lot of people asking for games and setting up games at the moment. I think the secret is advertising a game that people really want to join in. The Splintered Isles will only appeal to some not everyone plus people don't know the stuff is good.

Had I said I'll run pathfinder or a good gamemastery scenario such as "Entombed with the Pharaohs" then I'd be beating people off. But I like the free-wheeling feel of the Sinbad style of island adventures. The PC's already reflect that.

Cheers

I'm seriously thinking about it. Reason being I am prepping a pbp and in 3--I figure if you're going to post once a day, you might as well post for 3.

But I sure love Sinbad.

Spoiler:

It's funny you should mention Entombed because I am planning on starting my pbp in Sothis. My only worry is that the stuff I write will be inaccurate once Paizo releases Gazeteer and the Campaign Setting.

Spoiler:
Entombed is a superb adventure. You could start the campaign off with it, and the players at sixth level. By the time they deal with the adventure, the Chronicles stuff would be out.

Or if they are first level then stick them in a little pyramid for a couple of months, until the books arrive. I am sure you could come up with a good premise to kick off.

Cheers

I'll put this back to the end of the thread.

One player first come, first served.

Frenck Wolf, are you really still looking? I'd be interested.

I do believe there is a space open Thom.

See there you go Wolf, you just needed this bumped a bit.

About my own stuff Wolf:

Spoiler:

I've already done a lot of non-canonical foundation.

What I'm doing is planning a self-destruct for Sothis in my game so that when Paizo comes out with enough that I don't want to use my own, I can wipe it out forever. The great thing about my maps is that I can open them up and edit it into a completely different city if I ever want to. Change the island, narrow the river, get rid of the 'black dome' and so on.

If you get any ideas please drop into the pbp general discussion.

Good luck with the game!

The Exchange

Great. Thereal. For interested I am going to read seriously interested and willing to post regularly. I recognise your name so I am sure you understand how important posting is(or letting us know when you are too busy with real life).

I am having a good day. You have a pretty much free choice on whatever you want to play, however for plot reasons please call him/her Garin Avery or something that sounds like that. It will make my job to insert you that much easier - thanks.

Thereal, all the bases are covered. You are player number six.

There is lots of info to help sort a PC at the start of the discussion thread.

Please could you move all discussion to the Splintered Isles Table Chat?

Welcome on board.

What a great day.

Cheers

P.S. thanks Kruelaid for your support.

Thanks for the laugh, Eric Mona will be turning in his office if he ever reads that about Sothis.
