Void_Eagle wrote:Well then it's time we fixed that! Norwescon is March 20-24, and DethCon is throwing a party at least on Friday and Saturday night, we should be in the third floor lakeside suite in wing 5B. :)Remind me in February. :D
I'll help remind you, too. My wife is Norwescon's Secretary, and I usually get tapped to help in something each year, recently as the DJ for the Fannish Fetish Fashion Show.
Seriously, I am probably going to make the suggestion to Programming to invite more of you Paizo folks to the Gaming panels, as well as (gasp!) some WotC people. They've had the same gaming panels, with the same panelists, year after year. Last year, Erik was on a few panels, and it really helped breath new life into those tired, old panel discussions. Heck, running a few Gamemastery demos (and for WotC, a demo of the 4e game!) would be a big draw.
That said, Norwescon isn't very "big" as far as gaming conventions go...no, it's no GenCon. It is largely a literary/fandom convention. But the panels on gaming are nearly always full, and the gaming rooms are as well.

That helps. :D
True. Parking at the Doubletree's a b%!+~, though. Grrrrr.
EDIT: Sweet! I've been censored!

Taking a break from working on my outline to say 2 things:
1) It is a lot of fun. Informative, interesting, and overall just a nice little nugget of info on how things are done.
2) I have more respect than before for people who pump out these adventures on a regular basis. It's hard! I mean it is a labor of love obviously, and it is exhilarating -- but it is tough work to nail down the details of an adventure and word them just so.
Ok, enough blabbing -- back to writing.

Nearly local for me too and I could stay with fambly so I have thought about it. only five hours away.... Not much there yet.

So Mike and Timitius. When is Norwescon and how do I find out how much it costs and all of that. Plus since we (Dreamweaver and I) live in Montana it wouldn't be that far for us to go. Thanks!
HA! You have like a direct line in to a ConCom (my wife and me too), who has all these answers (plus she replied to me 'Buy now! It's cheaper!')
Instead of risking a major threadjack (and doing a little promotion as well) I'm going to start another thread down in "Off-topic discussion".
Norwescon discussion to continue shortly.......er, over there. Ahem.

No, the site usually doesn't start getting much more until February, when it all comes slamming together.
Check out the past Norwescons though. You get a decent idea of what they are like from that.
Erk. Threadjacking again. Sorry.

I saw a crocodile today. Well not really, it was a leaf. Blowing in a puddle. I think the puddle's name was jack though.
Song cue!
Now Jack was a puddle who sat on the ground
And Scott was a poster who threadjacked around...
I was going to try to redo the whole song, but I AM actually at work right now. ;)

You beat me by about an hour Ashavan!
Yes, good luck to all, and who ever gets it, this is going to be great!
Mike,
After you guys are done with determining who writes W3, would it be possible for you to post the outline guidelines for the rst of us losers? We're all hoping to learn as much as possible about what publishers like you are looking to see.By the way, I purchased both Burnt Offerings and Conquest of Bloodsworn Vale after submitting my query. I must admit I underestimated Pathfinder when you guys announced it. The adventure is quite imaginative and detailed beyond belief. I honestly cannot wait to see how W3 turns out!

I'll talk to Jason about this. :)

Heh. That's exactly why I sent mine in yesterday ... the fretting over minute stuff, it was starting to mess with me.
Good luck Rogue!

Got mine done Monday night after a last intense 4 hour proof read by my wife and made quite a few changes. Emailed it to my self to look over one last time at work and all the new changes were not saved right. So after another 4 hours of proof reading I will be ready to submit later today.

Holy Crap!
Mine's away....
After several nervous minutes of my finger hovering over the send button, mind racing with "what if's", heart pounding with doubt and terror, I finally just clicked the D#%n button!
Good luck to all, as gut wrenching as today was, I have enjoyed the entire process.
Thanks again to the Paizo team for this opportunity.
May the best one win.

Should I be worried that you guys have your sent in already? I plan on sending mine in late tonight after work, though I have been compusively checking the deadline date, because I keep thinking I misread it for some reason.
Good luck all.
Last - you're still good... I was to the point that if I obsessed about it any more it was going to get worse, not better, so I sent it in a little early.

Yeah, I was feeling the same ... and was also worried (though I knew it not to be the case) that SOMEHOW the US was ahead of me (time zone wise) rather than behind ... and I'd miss the deadline by a day...
Anyway, good luck all.

AARRGG!
Black waves of dispair...
I knew I hit the D%$n button too soon!
I swapped my monster from a monsterous humanoid to an aberration at the last minute, and forgot to adjust the base attack!!!...
This roller coaster ride is killing me!
I just need to forget about it for awhile..
Ouch! I changed the type of my monster a couple of times too, so I hope I picked up on all those things …
Well … more experienced authors than any of us have gotten things like that wrong in published adventures, so maybe it won’t be counted against you too badly.
If it makes you feel any better, there is an area of my submission that I know is contradictory to the instructions we were given; I explained my reasoning for changing things in my submission email, but whether the guys will agree with my reasoning, I don’t know. We’ll see I guess!

Should those of us that are currently in round two of the Gamemastery open call wait until the winner of round two is announced before submitting an item for this contest?
(also posted on the RPG contest questions thread)
You might want to. We plan to announce the winner sometime early next week, which would still give you plenty of time to enter the RPG Superstar Competition.

Congratulations to Hill Giant!
Here here good man! I look forward to your work . . .and the ideas of the other contestants. Is it ok for us to post our proposals? I imagine yes, but I'd hate to step on any toes.

That is awesome! Sounds like a great adventure, I will definitely be picking up a copy.
Hope this is the start (or continuation?) of a long freelance career for ya. Congrats David!
