Now, I did not go through, but those who did, I think we would all love to see your submissions so we can gain from them what we lacked for the next showdown.

Simply put it in a spolier window to save space.

Congrats and good luck!

Hmmm, I don't know if the winners would want to/should post their proposals. One of the proposals is going to be the final module after all. Don't want to give up everything at such an early stage.

I would like to congratulate all who did win though, and if they would step forward they can be recognized.

Congrats to all!

True and I agree.

We would prefer it if the winners did not post their proposals just yet. The guideline is: Feel free to post it after it has been rejected, but if it gets accepted wait until the final module has been released until you post.

Now, if the people that we requested outlines from want to identify themselves, that's absolutely fine.

Dark Archive Contributor

Let me back up Jeremy here with a few less niceties.

If you post the submission you sent in that we advanced to the second round we will reject you immediately.

Don't do it.

Now I must wait with bated breath for the guidelines... *slowly slips into madness*

For those 12 of you the made it through, congratulations are certainly in order. This also means that we'll be seeing a lot less of you on the boards as you furiously write. Especially for the finalist. It's been fun. I really hope that the whole dozen are regularish Paizo posters. That'd rock! Now get to work and make us proud!

Spoiler:
No pressure.

12? I thought there were only supposed to be 10?

The Paizo Blog says they decided to choose 12 instead of 10 for reasons unknown even to the gods... er actually I think they just found two too many submissions they really liked, so they decided to go with 12...

Hmm. So it would seem. Well... that makes the agony of defeat even worse. *cry*

It's a funny story. Maybe someday we'll tell you. Like at Gen Con. After about 10 beers. Each.

Woo!!!

I'm thinking it went something like this:

Mike: Ok, well those are the final ten then. Good submissions mostly.

Jason: Mostly.

Jeremy: *hacking - - still sick*

Mike: So, we'll divy up the 10 of them among the three of us when they get their outlines in. You two can each take 4, and I'll read 2.

Jason: WTF??? I have to read twice as many as you??

Jeremy: *Summons a phlegm golem*

Mike: Ah. You discovered my plan.

Jason: *pulls 2 from the stack randomly* There, now we EACH review 4.

Jeremy: *oozing snot*

Mike: Damn . . .

Done.

You'll be there next year, right Mike?

~laughter~ That is probably closer to the truth than they want to tell us! ~chuckles~

Mike's gonna be at GenCon?!?!

I'll believe it when I see it.

But when/if it happens, I'll gladly buy the first round for you ninja.

If you exchange my name with Jason's name in the above commentary (I like how you assumed I was in charge, BTW. Yay.) you're a lot closer to the truth than you might know.

There have been rumblings they might tie me up and throw me on a train bound for Indy next year. Or maybe that was throw me UNDER a train bound for Indy...

Laugh it up, scaly. ;)

Heh. Me too.

But if it happens, Troy, I'll be happy to let you buy me a beer. Or a White Russian. Or a shot of Jamesons. lol ;D

Oh, I am STILL laughing, you miscreant you! ~grins~

Would it help if I dressed up as Gninjita? I'll put my hair in pigtails and everything.

Or cookies. Or biscotti. I'll make more of those cranberry hazelnut veggie-friendly biscotti I sent up. :)

There's a whole bottle of it on top of my fridge if you feel like making a road trip...

Hell, I'll even pick up some Guinness and we can drop a couple Irish Car Bombs!

I don't think your wife would like to find me passed out in your dusty backyard, blistering in the AZ sun with an empty bottle of Jameson's.

Just hop the fence onto the golf course. The groundskeepers will take care of everything...

Congratulations to the chosen! I can hardly wait to see what finally comes of this.

Cheers!

Indeed, congratulations to the potential authors of the Open Call!

BTW, although I did not make the cut, I would like to thank Jason Buhlman for at least sending non-acceptance emails. Though not 100% related, as one on the job hunt right now, you'd be surprised by how many places just don't call you back, even when they say to your face they will.

At least now I won't have to write an outline--or, at least, one with perfect punctuation and grammar--and can get back to that job hunt. Besides, come next May, I'll be getting this great module for my birthday as a gift to me, from the winner. (I mean, I'll be paying for it, but, er...you know what I mean.)

So what's the count so far?

Mothman
Dreamweaver
Evil Genius
Hill Giant
Koldoon
The Last Rogue

Congratulations to all of you.

Anyone else?
(I'm still waiting to hear)

Thanks for posting the winners so far, Craig. I was like, "C'mon! Are you guys super modest or something. Brag!"

So you are saying that they should follow Logue's example? ;-)

Amen. Something that WotC should learn from, IMHO.

Make it to Aussie and I'll buy you a real beer (Not that even that can compete with Lil's cookies (also it might be hard to find a train to Australia.).).

My family is pretty excited about this and I was wondering how much I should be sharing with people? My wife is my proof reader so she will have to read it but that is about the only person I would need to read my stuff but there are several people wanting to read the proposal.

Just wondering since technically I think my proposal is Piazo property now.

It's okay to show your proposal to other people, just not in a public way (i.e., don't put it up on your LJ or on messageboards or something) That's technically publishing it and violates the terms of the open call (and your contract, if you get that far).

I dunno. I heard the four most poisonous animals in the world all live in Australia, which makes me wonder about the beer as well...

Make it to Norwescon (which is much closer to you, btw) and I'll "buy" you a few beers. Just look for the DethCon party. :)

That sounds much more tempting. :)

It's weird, though. I've lived in the state of Washington almost my entire life and I've never been to Norwescon. Been to four Gen Cons, but never the local con. Go figure.

Nope. I spent the weekend checking; the beer's still good here.

Has anyone received their feedback and the guidelines for Stage 2 as yet? I know Jason said they would probably not be sent until close of business on the 15th, and that still being a day or so away, I’m not concerned or anything – just wondered if anyone had them (so I can be concerned…)

I have a few questions (particularly after buying Conquest of the Bloodsworn Vale yesterday, and becoming a little concerned at some areas of my proposal), but I figure there’s a good chance they’ll be answered in the feedback / guidelines we get sent.

I have not received the guidelines yet so we can worry together but I am not going to get to concerned until about 4:00 today if I don't get them.

Dark Archive Contributor

Contrary to popular belief, we don't actually work 8-hour days on the weekends as well.

Well, not always.

Jason will probably have feedback out to everyone by EOD today. :)

In that case, just come straight to New Zealand; We don't have any poisonous animals and I live less than an hour from this.

Anyway guys, I have now received mine, thankyou kindly. And yes, my main question / concern was answered! Thanks again.

You guys are actually thinking about publishing these posters. WOW!!!

You mean these guys have soem talent!

WOW!!!

They have all earned my respect, but so has many others. I'm impressed by both the guys on the boards and Paizo for doing such a thing.

Well then it's time we fixed that! Norwescon is March 20-24, and DethCon is throwing a party at least on Friday and Saturday night, we should be in the third floor lakeside suite in wing 5B. :)
