Okay, my appetite has been whetted. I don't suppose there's a sample article out there anywhere to get a sense of what the product is like.
I wrote me an Ecology of the Barghest for it my man. It's good! I promise! ;-)
To be honest though the real draw for me is the Princes of Hell articles...so f@$#ing awesome. Wolfgang set the bar high last issue, and Tim Connors did not disappoint this time around. I mean, c'mon, how can you not get behind Belphegor, Baron of Laziness and Invention! It's like Robert Heinlein's Parable of the Man Too Lazy to Fail wrapped in hellfire. Delightful.
Ed Greenwood, Rob Schwalb, Skip Williams, and the list goes on. Good folk, I feel like a punk among them, and I don't usually feel like a punk. ;-)

Trust me. I know you have high standards, but you will like KQ. It's a fantastic magazine.
If you have any doubts, contact Wolfgang or Paizo and buy just issue #2. It will only set you back a few bucks and you won't be disappointed.
Especially if you compare it to what we've seen from the DI thus far . . .

Is KQ1 only available as a .pdf, or will it be/is it also available as a Print Edition?

Kobold Quarterly 1 had a very limited print run and has already sold out.

Stan! did Bolt and Quiver, didn't he?
I miss me some cartoons...
And Nick, I'd be buying it despite it containing work by you instead of Pett. ;-)
Sebastian, I purchased KQ2 yesterday, and although I havent yet had a chance to read it, the production quality and article topics look really good. And yes, it has Bolt and Quiver!
KQ1 was certainly good, and KQ2 looks like it will be as good or better in my opinion.

Which is why I am VERY grateful I got a subscription to the KQ. I likes me dead tree mags.

I'll chew on it. I really like the idea of the nobility article Aberzombie mentioned...
And thanks for the info.
Sebastian, you and I do not see eye to eye. We probably never will.
But since I really like KQ so much, I am willing to buy you the first two KQ's in PDF just to try and get you hooked.
Yes, I am a pusher like that.
If you accept, I'll contact Mr. Baur and see about working out the details.

If I'm going to have a digital version of a maagzine, the KQ is exactly what I want...a downloadable PDF that is very well put together. WotC should take note.
The articles on the Princes of Hell have been really great so far, as have both "Ecology of" articles. KQ1 had a really cool article on some fey creatures called Far Darrig. KQ2's article presenting the Assassin as a 20-level class was really cool as well.
I probably won't get a subscription (unless there is one for just the PDF version), but I will definitely continue to purchase this awesome replacement for the dearly departed Dragon.

Good News! There is a PDF-only subscription right here.

You feel like a punk?! Holy Poop Batman! I'm like the only friggin' unrecognizable name in any of the issues!
Seriously, thanks for the kudos Nic. And I return the compliments to you. You have a real knack for powerful language. I can see the foaming barghests' jaws in my sleep now. ...ugghhh...thanks.
And for those just trying KQ out, hook Nic and I up with some feedback on our contributions. Good/bad, hit us.
