Ok all; we are getting down to the wire so we need to seriously start discussing the day before All Saints Day. We need a nice D&D theme for our Jack O' Lanterns this year; last year was Beholder O' Lanterns and we had some fun with it; see the pics if you need to.

ok; so we need a Jack theme with postable pics

time to put out the Hallow'd recipes again...the good ones.

Sigh, I think I am being roped into being a superhero this year costumewise, what are you guys doing?

Anyone want to relate a ghost story; this is the thread.

how about good theme music other than canned tracks you buy at the store; anyone gonna mix up a nice brew of music tracks to play while handing out grub?

only 37 days to plan; remember that your paper mache stuff is gonna take some time to dry and paint so time to get started and your themed D&D adventures dont just write themselves.

I tried the cheerleading last week-ish here. I got the mask in the mail last week that I'm going to paint and glue black feathers onto. I also have some other things on order. I'm getting worried because none of my usual Halloween crew has dedicated themselves to throwing a really good party. It's sadly looking like there will be a few smaller parties that really need a bigger venue to combine them for a splendid time. I'm sure it will pan out.

I gotta ghost story for ya: the screaming pooping thing is coming to my house October 16th. By Halloween she will be two weeks old.
Tremble. Tremble in fear. ;)

woot for you heathy; I love carving pumpkins with my little ones; your gonna love it too I just know it.

Tell Halloween visitors she's your cat dressed up in a baby costume.

For a Jack theme... what about the Paizo goblins? The creepy heads Reynolds devised are relatively gourd shaped. I'll carve thematically if you folks will. And then, as Valegrim suggested we can post pics of our results.

That's a good idea, I might have to carve a goblin pumpkin this year.

Paizo goblin pumpkins? I sense fun in the works! Can we put a little CD player near the pumpkins that plays the goblin song over and over? :D

Isn't it easier to carve with something sharp...

Am for Goblins if others are; was thinking of that as I started the thread and thought it might be a nice tribute to Paizo and Pathfinder; will you be posting our pics again this year Lilith? I was thinking of playing the soundtrack or the jsut the part where the girl summons the goblin king to take her baby brother away in that cool movie with David Bowie :)

Labyrinth FTW!

So Pathfinderesque goblins it is. In tribute to Paizo, Pathfinder and... well, goblins I guess.

Labyrinth! Hooray!

And yes, I have no problems hosting pictures for y'all. :)

We can win Jennifer Connelly?

Link please. I've always wanted a Hollywood slave. She can give me acting lessons as she helps me clean up all this clutter.

Not too sure how much pumpkin carving I'll be doing this year.

My wife & I are taking the day off work to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Yep, married on 31 October.

Heathy, regarding the screaming/pooping thing: The real nightmare comes in when you realize the horror won't end for 18 years!

Ok; so are we decided on Goblins? like some yes, no type votes please;

thanks for the movie name; I knew it, but was to lazy to look up how to spell it :)

Arctaris, Lilith, Valegrim and Jade are all aboard with using a Pathfinder goblin theme for our pumpkin carving this year.

That's four for goblins. Let's do it.

Coolness; am doing some preliminary sketches; hmm one might be problematic as it may catch fire; lol

I rarely celebrate Haloween, but it may be worth it if I'm celebrating along fellow Paizonians. Now to find a blue raksasha mask...

Can you carve a pumpkin; were doing gobbies; join in and then post a pic; is great fun.

Gobbos, eh?
I'm sooo in.

Coolness; were all gonna post em up like we did last year; last year was beholders :)

Scarab Sages

I think I'll dress as a zombie....

well, I have an adult party to go to; so need to dress up, but dont want anything uncomfortable, or that messes with my eating, drinking or chasing girls :)

hehe I just checked out the pet costumes on MSN; was good for a chuckle.

My brother tried to dress his mini doberman pincher (spelling?) as a ghost one year. Needless to say...hilarity ensued.

yeah, was looking at the skeletal dog for mine; but he prolly just sit there and whine.

well, guess the theme for the party is gonna be clowns from hell or demented clowns or something along those lines.

so...anyone got a pattern for the gobbo pumpkins yet?....tried my hand at it...not so good....

hehe; I have not bought my pumpkin yet; has anyone else; didnt want it to spoil to soon. There are lots and lots of patterns online for pumpkin carving and a lot more for sale, I just draw my own though.

Oh, I know all about the patterns online...I have about 7 of the Funkins (fake pumpkins) that I have carved using the various patterns.
What I was asking about is if anyone has drawn their own Paizo Goblin pattern. I tried and it didn't turn out well. The dogslicer is easy, but getting the face right was not.

I got mine, but it'll be turned into a pie (at least, I hope).

As for music... I'm no composer, but someone is. check this out:Click here.
Try Kobold O' Lanterns next year. Or maybe Stirge O' Lanterns. I think I'll try the goblins.
P.S. Don't be put off by the Dragonlance thing.

What paizo goblins? and wheres the pics?

Umm...not ready yet? Still a bit early for carving, and we don't want mushy goblin heads. :P

As for the Paizo/Pathfinder goblins, go forth and read the Paizo blog back towards April and onwards.

If I were taller and wider I would so get the Hellboy costume! :)

There's a link at the bottom of the page that says "Older Posts," but here's a direct link to April.

I'm making one up. I'll mail it to you later.

Well..if you're mailing......
I'll take a copy;)

I found a mask that looks like the picture sharoth posted on the "Sorry Heathy" thread. I'm contemplating buying it.

Send me your addy and I'll send you my template.

I'm going to get an oblong pumpkin and turn it on its side so the goblin can have a wide face.

The best thing about doing goblins it that you can buy your punkin late and not worry that you end up with the weird shaped ones.

You are like the Michaelangelo of truth, D.

Completely right you are... no way to f up a goblin face, is there? Unless it comes out looking like Brad Pitt or something. Then you know you really suck.

My pumpkin is squat and odd-shaped PRECISELY so it can be made to look like a goblin. :)

Halloween is more of a USA thing, but now I've got kids, I'll probably make more of an effort. Trouble is, kids over here seem to have latched onto the 'give us stuff' aspect, without any of the 'celebration'; they just come round your house in hoodies and shuffle on your doorstep, looking shifty.

I showed a werewolf mask to my son at the weekend, and he didn't cry, but he pulled such a sour face that it made a gaggle of teenage girls laugh and fuss over him. I think I'll buy that mask and keep it in my pocket all year round...Tee Hee!

Can anyone post a link to previous years pumpkin photos?

Bob
