I'll be working, so looks like I'll just be irritated for Halloween.

My kids. My little girl demands to be a Princess....yet again.

My son. First was going as the Grim Reaper. Then as Stone from Deadlands RPG. Now he's combined the two as a grim reaper/cowboy kinda resembling the Deadlands Hanging Judges.

I'm going to dress up like a Soldier; for some reason, I seem to have all the accouterments...

I am going to wear a tuxedo and be good looking for halloween, either that or I am going to wear a superman t-shirt under a suit and tie, any time someone asks who are you supposed to be I would pull ths buttondown shirt open and say "Faster than a speeding bullet...".

Might want to get a "snap-down" white shirt for that :)

I'm going to Texas Renaissance Festivel around Halloween, not sure as what yet though.

Don't know what to do this year.

Last year I went as a boy scout and my friend went as a priest. :)
Yah were going to hell.

I'm going to be stuffed for Halloween. My friend is having a birthday get-together at an all-you-can-eat BBQ ribs joint down the road from where I used to live. So I am going to sit, hang out with some friend, drink lots of Guiness (half price imports that night) and eat lots of ribs.

I going to be a soldier waiting for a flight out of Iraq!

guess the party theme I am going to is Clowns of the Damned or some such; so gotta be a damn clown :) will probably wear my doublet and hose and be a 16th century undead street performer; guess I need long white wig and some nice shoes with buckles; so hard to find.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and has been for years. I always dress up and take pride in my costumes. In the past I have done a lot of traditional scary costumes with fx make-up and stuff. Each year I get more and more tired of going through it all. I usually have an idea for what I want to be by now and I just figured it out last night. I'm going to dress up as a kenku. I'll post pictures after the day.

What are y'all going to be/do?

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you. I had no idea what I would be. I was gonna be a dracronian, but that word has other meanings I think, and I dont want to be mistaken for something else. I hate that. And I don't want to do a kobold this year.

But a kenku's GREAT! thanks! That's what I'll be!

I decided on Atlas (because I have the muscles---yeah right). I run a costume contest at work with the only rule being no professional costumes. I will post the link when I finish the page. Vale did you see the Marvel costume contest? Lots of cool supers there. Not many clowns though. Winners supposed to be posted today...

Change of plans. I am now going to be a caucasian male between the ages of 18 and 40 drinking beer and playing Resident Evil 4. The scariest costume of all.

Methinks my carnivorous hobbit self shall indulge in the annual weredingo metamorphosis and chase self-propelled machinery, slow bipeds and mayhap snack on the occassional self-propelled field ration...

I'm an orc barbarian. I have chessy pig nose. Cheesy fangs. I have a stick I wrapped in layers of masking tape and painted brown for a club. That, an old torn shirt, old shorts a role in the mud. bam I'm a cheesy orc.

Liberty's Edge

I'm a twentyish creepy guy with ripped jeans and glasses. Oh, you mean for Hallowe'en... Yeah, actually, that's my costume. Again. F*!#.

Masquerade, masquerade
Grab your mask and don't be late
Get out get out well disguised
Heat and fever in the air tonight
Meet the others at the store,
Knock on other people's door
Trick or treat they have the choice,
Little ghosts are makin' lotsa noise

But watch out. . .beware--listen. . .take care

Chorus
In the streets on halloween
There's something going on
No way to escape the power unknown
In the streets on halloween
The spirits will arise
Make your choice, it's hell or paradise
Ah--it's halloween
Ah--it's halloween. . .tonight!

Someone's sitting in a field,
Never giving yield
Sitting there with gleaming eyes,
Waiting for big pumpkin to arise
Bad luck if you get a stone,
Like the good old charlie brown
You think linus could be right
The kids will say it's just a stupid lie

But watch out. . .beware--listen. . .take care

Chorus

Listen now--we are calling you. . .
And there is magic in the air

Magic in the air. . .on halloween
Black is the night full of fright
You'll be missing the day
What will be here very soon
Changing your way
A knock at your door
Is it real or is it a dream
On trembling legs you open the door
And you scream. . . .on halloween

Darkness
Where am I now
Is there anybody out there
What has happened
Am I in heaven
Or is it hell
I can see a light comin'
It's comin' nearer
It's shining
It's shining so bright
It's shining on me

I am the one, doom's in my hands
Now make your choice,
Redeemed or enslaved

I'll show you passion and glory
He is the snake
I'll give you power and abundance
He's the corrupter of man

Save me from the evil one
Give me strength to carry on
I will fight for all mankind's
Deliverance and peace of mind

But watch out. . .beware--listen. . .take care

Chorus

Yeah, it's halloween
Yeah, it's halloween. . .tonight

I didn't have the time to really work on my kenku costume, so that one is getting shelved. I ended up throwing a bunch of stuff together from our costume room and ended up with an astrozombie. Pictures to follow.

My Peter Pan costume turned out fantastic but, unfortunately, all of the pictures are from the shoulder up.

I'm the girl-child inthe top hat that I stole from Baron Samedi. Joe is my friend who took the pictures!

YUM!

well, I was a vampire thrall; started out the night fairly bland and put more and more makeups on as the number of bites on my neck increased turning more and more into a vamp :) worked well as the party was about 8 hours long.

Got the page up so you can see me and the rest of the office (well those who decided to play). Also my Gobbo pumpkin is at the bottom. If you look at last years you can see my beholder pumpkin which I apparently never linked to for y'all. Scary Scott's Costume Contest. Click on the pics for the full deal.

New year, same question!

I was thinking of going as a post-encounter-with-the-sun Icarus, but I just know people are going to call me an angel.

This is my costume for Halloween this year: http://arcanofox.foxpaws.net/Halloween2008a.jpg

I win halloween.

I will shave my head, wear my pitch black tailored suit, with a white shirt and red tie. Black gloves, black leather shoes. Raybans. Barcode on back of head. Agent 47.

For a moment I thought you were describing a Turk from FF7.

I might be going as Tom Selleck, Magnum P.I. era.

Had to be linked... some language not safe for work.

Look at all these freakin' costumes!

Damn, that's creative.

I'm starting work out heavily as of this week so I can pull off Dutch from Black Lagoon again. I think this is the last year I'm going to try to pull this off outside of a convention. My beard is growing and my wife swears she can have a good cloak ready for me by next year, so I think next year I'll be a WIZARD!!!!!

God, I love that commercial.

Liberty's Edge

For years, I've wanted to go as a hamster in a giant, plastic hamster-ball, but I've yet to plan ahead sufficiently in pre-time or cash-liquidity to pull it off.

I may head back up to Chapel Hill this year. UNC always closes down Franklin Street to have a huge Halloween party.

Dark Archive

I was hoping to be a Rennisance king or a pirate, but the only costume I can find that fits is a giant banana.

Scarab Sages

Sadly, I haven't done the costume thing lately. These days, I'm all about decorating the house and giving candy out to all my visitors. However, a Halloween store did open up in the strip mall near my house, so maybe I'll go see what they have.

I'm sort of tossing around a few Ideas in my head. right now, I got Charlie Chaplin, Paul Stanley, The Mad Hatter (from alice in wonderland, not Jarvis Tetch), and a Jesuit. but I honestly can't decide since i'm horrible at costumes, hate face paint and i'm terrible at impressions. therefore, I'm thinking charlie brown. with the sheet, and the holes, and the bag with a rock.

I finally got an invite from a bunch of people to go to a party, so i kinda need to dress up.

I'm also tempted to try and pull off a character from Hellblazer, but I know noone is going to get it.

I have some ideas, but I need my seamstress friend to help out with some details.

What am I going to be?

Busy. Working at a con in northern Kentucky...

I was planning to go as Francis (Owen Wilson's character) from Darjeeling Limited - brown pjs, cane, mismatched shoes and a couple of ace bandages. But the gf has been trying to dress us as John and Yoko for a few years now, which she thinks is hilarious, because she's Asian and I'm a cracker.

Liberty's Edge

A couple of friends and I are thinking of being the Boondock Saints.

Me = Conor McManus
Alex = Murphy McManus
Patrick - David Della Rocco

I have a schoolgirl's uniform. Might wear that. I need some corsetry to fit into it tho, not hard to find.

Oh s##&! Halloween in a month!

I'm not ready at ALL!

I'm going as the dad handing out the big candybars at the door (I always buy the normal-size candy bars, I always thought the 'fun' sized ones were a gyp). I get more into the pumpkin carving and decoration of the house side of things. My wife has a Halloween village she puts in the window every year. This year I have a nice crop of Atlantic Giant pumpkins out in my pumpkin patch, so I am thinking of ideas on how to carve them. My biggest baby is about 50-60 Lbs, I am thinking of a Lovecraftian Yog-Sothoth theme for it, since it is a lil' bit misshapen. Also planning on a 'hanged man' theme this year, with a noose and a scarecrow guy with hands tied behind his back dangling from one of my trees. Oh yeah, and the traditional grave markers in the front yard ...

Ahh ... Samhain ..gotta love it.

Kinda like Pat, I usually get more into the decoration. I "spookify" the front yard, the inside of the house (for the family), then go out late for myself. Still need a costume, though...

I don't know what I'm gonna be yet. I'm thinking I may just put out pumpkins.

Way to kill (or "cleave") the spirit. haha. no.

Don't you mean, kill/cleave the PUMPKIN?

Anyone know of any really great costume sites/shops?

I've tried looking but just find the usual rubbishy cheapo stuff that sells 'Jack Sparrow', 'Padded Superman costume' and 'Spiderman with eyeholes' crap?

Yeah, who was the idiot that decided shrinking candy bars made them "fun"? I always tell my wife I am handing out "fun" sized candy bars and buy a ton of the king sized ones.

Yeah 'fun' size candy is anything but. I also want to have a picnic in a cemetery like they do with the Día de los Muertos in Mexico. I have a cool 17th Century cemetery right down the street with the old Yankee angel skull tombstones and everything. I think that would be a neat adventure.

Good pick up.

I'm gunna wear a brown suit and go as a UPS truck (I'm a big guy).

Maybe I shouldgo as a robber. Just dress up in all black, and sneak into people's houses... If I got caught with stolen goods, it could just be part of the costume..
