            Two problems,
1) The OGL isn't finalized. Going to be hard to beat WotC to the punch. I doubt they want another creature collection on their hands.
2) I'm pretty sure that the agreement for ToH is for 3.x content. I doubt they'd let such a project sneak away from them again.
That said, I'm still pulling for a print 3.5E ToH

Does this mean that we are definitely not going to get a print edition of the 3.5 Tome of Horrors Revised? Can someone from Paizo please weigh in on this? I'd love to have a print copy of the Revised ToH, but if it is definitely not going to be forthcoming, I guess I'll get my pdf version prnted and bound after all. Ho hum.

Magic Eight-Ball says "outlook not so good."
Creating a big honking hardcover book and getting it back in time from the printers in time to sell enough of them to a dwindling market of people who are still buying heavy-duty 3.5E crunch is a pretty big financial gamble, IMO. I wouldn't count on Necromancer/Paizo going for it, although they know the numbers better than I do, obviously.

We've been discussing a print version of the 3.5 edition, but once WotC announced 4e and announced a May release rather than an August one that everyone had been expecting, the "sales window" for a 3.5 print edition shrunk considerably.
I no longer think this will happen, but the actual call is for the Necro guys to make.
Now, a 4.0 version....

If I was more excited for 4.0, I'd welcome a 4.0 version....
But since version 3.5 is only 4 years old at this time, I find it quite hard to get excited over a new edition.
I guess I'm in the minority, though...

Clark announced in the necromancer games forum:
"[...] So, if a "new" rule set is coming. What would you like us to do?
A Tome of Horrors at or near launch is an obvious move. And we are already working on it.
Tegel is now 4E. Sorry guys. :) [...]"
He was quoted at enworld.org a few days ago, and nothing about the announcement was changed in the meantime.
Obviously there will be a 4th edition Tome of Horrors which will be published quite closely to the release of the 4e PH.
Greetings,
Günther

            An after thought:
That is qiute a clever choice - just thinking about the huge success of Creature Collection by S&S which was published at the same time as the 3e PH and *before* the 3e MM....
Following the same thought:
The second adventure path will probably still follow 3.5, but GMMs published closely to the roll out of 4e could be a great way to attract new players to Paizo.
In the same way e.g. a Monster Handbook which collects all new Golarion (correct spelling?) monsters and updates them to 4e could prove very useful:
- an introduction for new (4e) players who desperately look for 4e critters
- a useful tool for us for converting our campaigns to 4e.
Ok. That's it.
Greetings,
Günther

No, I think you are not. I guess in the diverse forums with this theme, "No-to-4.0" are an estimated 20 to 30% with another 20 to 30% undecided yet.

you know, i submitted material for the original ToH, and i submmited a number of converted monsters to Dragon... hmm, hint hint. ;)
seriously though, a 4E ToH might actually get me to think more positively about converting. personally, i'd like it to not be beholden to the original set of monsters - you know, it could be maybe 75-90% the same creatures, shuffling it around to take out some of the more redundant or less interesting creatures from the original and adding some other "skipped" monsters from the AD&D days.

Rest assured, Tome of Horrors for 4E is coming. Erik and I were talking about it yesterday. Look for it real early in 4E.
And oh yeah, all the stuff WotC screws up, look for us to fix. What? Succubii and Erinyes are now the same monster? Ok, WotC, whatever...
Dont worry, we got your back and will do it right.

Hmm... so its looking like I'll just buy the new Tome of Horrors instead of the 4th ed monster manual ;-)

Thanks!!! Leave it to Necromancer Games - this is the first hopeful thing I've heard about 4e yet...
