Hmmm....in the original 1ed. module he was a fighter/thief(thief=rogue); in the Mongoose rpg I think he was a barbarian; they have a somewhat different barbarian class in their d20 game. And Cimmerians get a bonus +2 str and +1 wil save as a "gift from Crom" but must forego any assistance from another religion or lose this gift.

Oh, and where he meets the Hyrkanian archer? Why that's gotta be one of the most original adventurer meetups out there... ;)
"I am Subotai! Thief. Archer. I am Hyrkanian."
"What are you doing here?"
"Food for wolf."
Even though Conan is sometimes a thief by profession, I reckon he's more sneak-in-and-bash-the-guards than hang-from-the-ceiling-and-pick-the-lock. I'd make him a Barbarian/Ranger with lots of ranks in Hide, Move Silently, Survival, Climb and Jump. If we're using splat books then Barbarian/Scout. Maybe a couple of levels of Fighter either way to show his military expereince.

Check out the Inzeladun website on Enworld. Vincent Darlage did a good write up of Conan from levels 1 through 20. (I think it's 3.0 though). Hyboria.xoth.net also has a Conan conversion from an old TSR adventure.
Mr. Darlage's site also has a Red Sonja write up, FWIW.
As Heathy suggested, the Conan RPG also has a write up of King Conan - which I believe is a free download on the Mongoose Publishing website.
So, there are at least 3 sources that you can pull from. Go crazy.

Inzeladun rocks. Glad to see Mr Darlage is working for the Conan RPG now, instead of letting all that talent just sort of "bleed off" on the 'net (well, glad for his sake, anyway). Vince Darlage could whup Conan!

And Cimmerians get a bonus +2 str and +1 wil save as a "gift from Crom" but must forego any assistance from another religion or lose this gift.
I really like that. Does this mean you can't be healed or buffed by a cleric of another god?
I've been wanting to play a no magic pc with the rest of the party using magic just to see how well that could even work.

We recently had a party consisting of 2 wizards, a cleric, a bard, and one fighter. Everything went pretty smooth, but the player using the bard decided to trade in for a fighter after the first session.

Conan the King
Medium Humanoid (Cimmerian barbarian 15/soldier 1/thief 1/pirate 2/noble 1)
The literary (or movie) Conan is not the equivalent of a 20th level character. Please read this; Conan, even at his peak, is not a functional demigod; the world that the Conan stories are set in (as with most literary settings) is probably better modeled using E6 or E8. Also, despite the name "barbarian," the stories predate the system significantly and Conan is not portrayed as a raging berserker (which is what the 3.x barbarian class is); a closer fit can be achieved by using generic classes.
Conan the King (E8 version)
Middle-Aged human (starting with 40 point buy; gain +1 to ability score of choice every 2 levels instead of magic items)
Warrior (good save Fort) 4/Expert (good saves Ref, Will) 3/aristocrat 1
18 Str, 14 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 13 Wis, 15 Cha
Evasion, Sneak Attack (+2d6), Trap Sense, Uncanny Dodge selected as class features
Feats: Die-hard, Endurance, Power Attack, Track
Skills: choose as appropriate
Fort +7, Ref +6, Will +8

Bear in mind, Robert Sones' post isn't his own write-up. He's transcribing the stats given for "King Conan" as written by Mongoose Publishing from their Conan RPG supplement The Road of Kings (and made freely available in the preview linked to above).
